I may be in the minority, but I thought that Andersen was fine, outside of his puck-handling. All 3 goals were unlucky, really, a review and 2 really unlucky bounces after decent saves. He did his job and made the saves he needed to. Now, he just needs to learn to either leave the puck on a T for one of his D or just stay in his crease, no more clearing attempts for him please.

Some thoughts

1. Svechnikov is turning into a stud, he looks bigger and at least tonight appears to have put his struggles last season behind him.

2. I thought Freddie held down the fort nicely, he made me nervous tonight at times, but he had a nice game.

3. TDA is a player, loved that pass to Svechnikov to seal the empty netter

4. I like Bears game. He seems calm and steady.

5. Martinook played like the Martinook of 2018-19. Ditto Nino when we traded for him.

6. I'd like to see KK get a goal in the next game or two, get a killer instinct going.

7. The PK kicked ass.

8. Abby Labar is a treasure. It's going to be a sad day when the national networks come calling because I feel like she's one of us.

9. TT, what a sniper. That goal came at the absolute right time.

10. I didn’t see Marley drug girl tonight, did I just miss it or what?

The best thing about this game tonight is that the power play looked like its superb self again tonight against a very good team, even with no Dougie manning the point. That's a small but very good sign that they may be able to answer my one big nagging question about this offseason in a positive way.

How does TDA look?
Didn't have a lot of defending to do so I don't know much about his pure defensive skills at this point but when you have the puck on your stick as much as he does and you can do things with it that he does... the sky is the limit. Also completely ragdolled Clutterbuck to break up a potential SH chance for the Isles. The situation in NYR must have been absolutely nuclear for them to completely give up on him.

I know it's only one game, but TDA looked solid and calm on the PP, and his assist passes to Turbo, and the ENG pass to svech were nice. The guy can move the puck. If tonight is in an indication of what we will get with him, I will take that for 50% of Hamilton's salary for a few years to come. I'd far rather have TDA for what the rags were paying him and have another 5 mil to spread around. Works for me.

It's simply a microcosm of just how divisive things are these days. Meanwhile he gets along just fine with 99% of his other ex NYR team mates. His political views in NYC probably outweighed any talent he had. It's NYC after all.

glad to hear TDA is working out for you. Shelter his defensive zone starts, give him a reliable partner (e.g. NOT Marc Staal) and he'll be a gem for ya.
The season is young but I never had any doubts of the potential he can bring to a team. I hope he plays with a chip on his shoulder but we’ll see how he does over time. He earned his kudos tonight.
