I don't see much bust type players in that chart. And again I would like the d to have been taken. But that is a lot of talent in your top 12 even assuming guys like bailey, Malone, pu or asplund bust.

Banking on bailey, Pu or Malone to be meaningful nhlers is risky. I think asplund will carve out a role regardless of 2nd line or 4th line ala larsson or girgensons.

I don't know how you can't like this kid, comes across as so likeable and humble.

Agreed, which is why none of those guys are expected to do much.

Lots to like in the pipeline.

Would still like chychrun or serg

7-10: CASEY MITTELSTADT ON WGR (9:09)
#Sabres first round pick Casey Mittelstadt (@CMittelstadt) joins Howard and Jeremy right now on WGR! Tune in:

Mittelstadt: I've realized how much bigger guys are here. That's been the eye-opener for me. For the most part, I can hold my own on the ice

Mittelstadt - being a kid from Minnesota, it's a dream to play for the Golden Gophers. #Sabres

Mittelstadt on Eichel - the first thing that stands out is how ghood of a skater he is. He also has a great shot. #Sabres

I hope this is sarcasm. Hard to tell here...

Yeah haha. On the radio he said something about eichel playing well while not working hard, but it was pretty clear he just meant he admired how eichel makes it look effortless.

I've seen this kid play a bunch... y'all got a gem of a player. I think it will take a bit of time for him to pan out, but when he does, I think he will be the best player out of this draft.

Interesting to go back to the night of the 1st round to see some of the negative reaction to Mittelstadt being selected at #8.

Can I just say...after seeing him today, I don't care how many pullups he can do.

I think I only wanted Vilardi over him but I suspect we may have the right call on that one. I'm sure Botts knows better than me and a bunch of other NHLers :)

Meh, I did the same thing too.

Outside of the one poster, I think it was the typical reaction of a non-top 2 player that was what was in the thread. Some people worrying too much about the warts of the player(pretty much the biggest was "shockingly his combine results) while others not making it seem like a big deal.

Edit: Sorry thought you meant on the Main board.

Anyone not playing D taken was going to get the waterworks from many here

Can we drop the D at 8 argument?

You were wrong - dead wrong - about you're predictions about the 2016 draft, but won't ever address it. Drop Nylander and add either Sergachev or McAvoy to this team, and there's literally no holes in the prospects or players under 22.

But you'll post like you're some kind of hockey expert... move onto the next argument, never addressing that you were wrong.

I think you've got a future at TBN.

I didn't even have Mittelstadt on my radar, I kinda assumed since we drafted Nylander last year Murray wouldn't be taking another skilled winger, then Murray gets fired and it still never crosses my mind that we would draft him. I was completely caught off guard when Botterill said "from Edin Prairie"

I'm very excited about it now, because from what I've seen he's right there with the 4 forwards drafted ahead of him.
