Find me a good 2c for under 5 mil willing to sign for only 3 years and see who you get. My guess is you gonna find crap. None of those guys listed will do that. I'd wait another season to see how Carters ankle is before thinking about moving him. I bet he's still not 100 pct.

I don’t think free agency is the answer. Hard to find a guy for a three year deal. I do think they should unload Carter to a team like Boston, Minny, Or Carolina if possible. He should be shopped hard at the deadline. This team needs a rebuild. The fire is gone. Carts and others need to go because Doughty is the best defending dman in the world and Kopi’s contract is near impossible to move. Neither seem like they want to leave. Both of them likely have five solid years left if they can stay healthy. I say close the book on what was and start a new chapter.

None of those guys fit. If/when Carter goes it needs to be for youth.

Maybe I didn't explain very well. I am suggesting trading Carter for picks and prospects, then replacing him by signing a UFA center for 2-3 years, so you don't have to rush any kids.

The point would be much like Handzus, there needs to be a bridge player so we don't rush kids into the lineup who aren't ready. In any case Carter should be traded for picks and/or prospects.

I find it humorous when the Kings are DFL in the NHL people are concerned about who will be the 2C if Carter is moved on in a trade. This coming from a fan base that saw Derek Armstrong play as a 1C, and in the really good years (not really) the Kings had Stumpel as the 1C and Smolinski as the the 2C. The Kings can be in DFL just as easily as they are now if they replace Carter with a vet looking for a contract.

They can just replace from within anyway.

Good point. I do think Kempe has been around enough where he's not being rushed. Amadio to an extent as well, but AHL definitely wouldn't hurt him. We do have Lewis who can mentor, if he isn't traded.

Carter and Toffoli were once again stellar...and their impressive streaks of of pointless games continues. Carter's most impressive moment, was after the game, standing at the door as players came in and tapping them all on the shoulder. Nice. Toffoli's highlight was a breakaway and no real move and
getting a weak backhand off. Missing an elementary pass, 5 feet from the goal was pretty sweet too.

At some point it would seem obvious that no GM is going to give Blake anything near what some fans think these two players are worth in the trade market. Pennies on the dollar never had a more truer meaning. GM's are offering Blake their problems for Blake's problems and nothing more.

There you have it guys. This guy knows exactly what the GMs are willing to pay. Better trade them now for 4th rounders before they drop anymore.

I mean its obvious that the GMs dont overpay for any players ever.
