The fact that this is happening on a Torts team is great. He is viewed as such a dinosaur but I think he's grown a lot over the years.
This comment feels like it's being pulled in 3 different directions

Edit: not trying to be an azz, I just don't understand

I hope whatever he's dealing with gets resolved as soon as possible so he can continue to move on appropriately. I'm sure it sucks not having your head in the game, especially when your job relies so heavily on focus.

I would argue one statement is saying, please dont ask us or Hart about what is going on and respect our privacy.

The other statement is saying we dont want to talk about this anymore.

One is just a tad bit more callous than the other in my opinion.

Again, take from it what you will.

Will be interesting to watch the Flyers broadcast tonight. They're a funny organization: They're part of a media and communications company, they more-or-less own most of their local media coverage, and they hired one of their own media personalities to head the team distinctly because they wanted him controlling the narrative around the team.

They certainly narrative'd the hell out of the Gauthier trade two weeks ago, flooding their own broadcast and media outlets with Jones, Briere and CEO Hilferty chanting the company line ("he didn't want to be a Flyer!"). Tonight they'll play a game that is once again a secondary story to something else going on around the team. How they address this tonight during their broadcast will be very telling.

Yeah so what is this thread even for then if people can't really say anything lol?
People can say plenty. Particularly about what the Flyers should do in his absence, or how other teams handle sudden indefinite leaves of absence. Or cap implications, as sometimes people don't know how things like this get handled. Or how well the announcement was constructed.

Or you can just say "hope it gets resolved, etc" or something else generic.

If your imagination is limited to unsubstatiated speculation about someone's personal life, I don't know what to tell you.

It is interesting to see the number of posts here that use the phrase "mental health" when that phrase does not appear anywhere in the 25-word statement the Flyers put out.

Briere has media availability tomorrow, but I believe it was already on the books before this announcement.

I hope that every good person on this planet is going to be doing fine and that nothing bad happens to them. And that if bad things do happen to them, that they will be able to make a recovery and come to peace.
I hope this especially for @Bear of Bad News. No idea how he deals with everything going on in this thread.

Defamation and speculative claims without sources is the big issue.

Trying to pry information from an admin who’s busy trying to enforce some forum rules isn’t going to end well
I wasn't prying per say. I was more or less looking for a lil context, usually when the main mods are handling something like this, its a relatively serious issue.
