He'd pretty much be gifted time with weegar.

We need more defense so bad
That’s a good fit for him. As long as teams think he can give them next year as well, they really shouldn’t have problems trading for him. Now, the Canucks ain’t getting much in return though

Having moved back to the right side and finding some chemistry with EP2, I have to wonder if they reconsider.

Hughes-Hronek
MPettersson-Myers
EP2-Soucy
Forbort-Willander

is a monstrously better defensive depth chart than they started the year with. Willander should replace Myers/Soucy in time, but no need to rush it.

A summer trade makes way more sense than right now. Can't trade Soucy before Willander arrives or we're stuck with Juulsen again plus the ntc loosens up in summer.

Would definitely rather be in a position where we move Soucy next year or even let him walk for nothing because Willander/D. Pettersson have simply taken his spot compared to trading him with that expectation and both kids go through understandable growing pains.

Now if someone wants to toss a 2nd for him, sure. I'd do that. Who the hell is though?

I thought him and Pettersson were our best pairing tonight (Aside from Hronek looking like a stud), I'd much much rather keep him for bottom pairing minutes and hopefully he regains his confidence, that way in the case of an injury he can step up - we saw this player last year look like a very good shut down defenseman, not going to give up on him that easily.

He is a good player having a bad season.
You’re not gonna get any proper value for him, he’s probably gonna go for like a fifth round draft pick to whatever team that’s interested that’s a playoff team
You know what, he just played a game on the right side, and he was fantastic.

I never thought he could actually play the right side, makes me more hesitant to trade him now

Cam Robinson seems to believe his price is a 3rd/4th and the more he plays like last night the more the price becomes a solid 3rd. Look around trade comps and that seems very reasonable.

With that said he’s more valuable to the Canucks because the alternative seems to be playing juulson….

I can see Toronto being in on this. Should be relatively cheap due to down year. Whats the ask?

Connor Timmins + low end pick? Canucks need some offense from their backend

Is it just me or have about 90% of Allvin's moves turned out to be awful and in need of correcting? I mean other than Sherwood and Debrusk it seems like the rest of the acquisitions he's made haven't worked out at all (I'm not including the most recent trades in this, it's far to early to tell).

His trades have been fine but signings has been about 50/50.

Last year most of his deals were pretty good overall. This year of course not so much but I'm not too upset over the Heinen and VD signings just 1 was MEH and one was bad but I would have liked to see Pods get another chance but thats more on their coach

I think Soucy is better than he has looked in Vancouver, so GM's who have been watching him for awhile may still be interested. I remember there were a few teams interested back when he was on Seattle, and I remember a few fans of teams were disappointed that he was traded to Vancouver back when that deal was made. The NTC will make things tricky, and I'm not sure if he is the kind of guy who would waive it because his team isn't playing overly well at the moment, or if he will sit on his NTC and say he isn't moving. I do think he will have some interest if he waives, but I don't expect he will bring a big return. The lack of RD on the market might help teams like Vancouver in this scenario, as other teams might end up looking for a leftie instead, and trying to move someone to play right side. As an Oiler fan, I would certainly have some interest in him if we can't unearth a 2nd pair RD anywhere.

Lankinen, Suter and Blueger have all been great. And really, the Soucy signing hasn’t been bad. He was great last year playing alongside Myers. The difference this year is that those two were playing in a defined top 4 role whereas last year it was more fluid and shared with the Zadorov/Cole pairing. Soucy as a #5, 3rd pairing guy is decent.

I would just hang onto Soucy and re-evaluate in the offseason.
I wouldn’t. There’s a surplus on D right now. It’s a good chance to really change up the mix.

He should still have some value. I think the team really needs to commit to a new direction. You have Mancini and Willander coming. Need space for those guys.

If the team decides to move Juulsen and Forbort instead, that would be fine too. But either way, they need to open up a spot or two.
