I've admittedly never been a basketball fan, but I haven't even followed the Hornets since they were the Hornets.
Until the Tepper Panthers, the Bobcats/Hornets were easily the most pitiful pro sports franchise. That could be changing with MJ giving up control and some truly exciting young pieces in the mix, but even if they continue at their status quo, the Tepper Panthers have absolutely surpassed the Hornets ineptitude/irrelevance.

I used to somewhat watch the original Hornets, but when they came back as Bobcats, 0 interest since then. They've made the playoffs like 3 times and won 3 games in 20 years or something like that? Of course part of it too was Bob Johnson treating the Checkers like shit, making them play playoffs in the practice facility so his daughter could have her f***ing equestrian tournament EVERY year during that time.

Yeah I remember that too. One year he f***ed the Bobcats over by having them go on the road for the last 5 games when they were battling for a playoff spot they ultimately didn't get.

Cam newton never had it between the ears
I've never seen a more physically talented QB have less idea what to do with the ball...he couldn't think on his feet at all. If the play/person he picked wasn't available after the snap, it was sack, run into everyone, or overthrow by 15 yards

You don't get to Newton's level if you're empty up there.
Cam had a good career. Not surprised it didn't last as long. His style of play wasn't sit in the pocket and pick you apart. He ran the ball, but wasn't elusive and slide to avoid contact like Russ. Nor was he as fast as Lamar to outrun the contact. He had a lot of 3-5 yard short yardage runs, which he absorbed contact to try to convert for the first down. That all added up over time. If he and the offence developed a better passing attack, maybe his career is extended but it is what it is.

Now Carolina has virtually the exact opposite in Young. Will he last due to his lack of size and any dominant physical trait.

Cam wasn't the smartest QB but he wasn't an idiot either its not like he got turnovers constantly throughout his career. From what I heard he was always one of the hardest workers when it comes to coming in early too. He always put the work in despite the Panthers constantly drafting for defense and we always had a decent to high scoring offense thanks to him because we almost always had a terrible Oline and receivers compared to the rest of the league. Remember when our offense was supposed to be terrible in 2015 without Benjamin?

I don't think he is an idiot. But nothing here, nothing, indicates he is smart and not just a freak physical specimen.

TDA and Matthew Tkachuk are long term pros, somewhat accomplished too. I wouldn’t consider them having much between the ears either.

Cam's career ran short because the Panthers had an absolutely terrible OL that let him get lit TF up every game, and the coaching staff relied upon him to be the primary battering ram in the running game. The hits piled up quickly.

If, for example, he had the Eagles OL in front of him and they were able to develop his pocket passing game, he might still be the starter here and the Panthers would have at least 1 Super Bowl title. The only year of his career where he got somewhat consistent blocking from the OL, he was the MVP, that's not a coincidence. It was only because of complete roster mismanagement that they fumbled the bag as hard as they did during his time here.

Cams problem wasnt his playstyle, it was his competitiveness that did him in. He only really got hurt chasing down that stupid Interception Kelvin Benjamin let the Chiefs defender rip out of his hands.

Him diving for the player and landing on his shoulder is what ruined his career.

Shame too, the man tried to do it all and we ultimately failed him.
