I love how the entire team looks bad (save for Ned) and we effortlessly find our security blanket whipping boy and make him the target of all of our frustration.

You guys talk the talk ("I'd be happy with 4 points in these 4 games"), but you aren't prepared for how that plays out.

Well I mean this is a game they should lose. They probably shouldn't get completely blown off the rink though in game 1 of this stretch. In the end, a loss is a loss. Put it behind you and move on.

Fine. If you want to argue bad vs mediocre, whatever. But no sense in basing it off this particular game.

I'm still plenty happy with 4 in these 4 if we can get it. But if we're going to lose, I want to see a better effort than tonight.

And anyone that is defending our road record this season is wearing the rosiest of rose colored glasses.

I don't think anyone is doing that. I probably should've explained my thought more. They have to do better on the road without question and put in more effort even when they are out of it. All I wanted to point out that this was already going to be a very difficult game and we shouldn't abandon all hope right now. This board has a tendency to go from slight optimism into extreme cynicism in a heartbeat. There's serious problems to address going forward, but we don't need to give up just based off this game

Ned should start the next game in Columbus, I think. Gives Ward a chance at home to clear the cobwebs and also a rest regardless of his play. Lets ned see a team he's already seen and had success against and play in front of his family, etc.

I ain't mad that they can't win against cbj at cbj. I mean, yes, they have to be better on the road. Tonight was probably not gonna be that game. They've got plenty of games they should win on the road, and it'll come down to those.

I expected a loss tonight. Not a bend you over kind of loss but hey they really haven't had many games like tonight this season. They have a couple days of rest coming up. Friday could be a "brand new ball game".

I'm enjoying the up beat spirit around here right now. I hope even if they don't come out on top over this next gauntlet of games, we keep a positive atmosphere. It certainly has been an entertaining season so far. I have people who don't even really follow the Hurricanes texting me about them. They're playing well enough to leak into mainstream news outlets.

Right? The season will be declared over after the next loss.

This place could be a disaster about five minutes into the next game thread if we come out bad...remaining optimistic after losing several of the next games is asking a bit much.

And Ned had a 17 save "shutout" performance in 30 minutes against one of the best teams in the league. Good for him. Now send him back down.

Honestly, though, BB clearly didn't bring his best. Let's not forget where the real blame lies.

Sour mood, indeed. Gotta keep it upbeat!

Good for him. But, to be honest, he didn't look that good. A lot of luck kept the puck out of the net in the third period.

No I'm good. I was very polite and respectful with my original post and you've started being a ****** for no reason. It's fun seeing how triggered you get!

Dude, gonna have to get a thicker skin if you wanna hang in these parts....very little serious comes out of the mouths of Canes fans....

Hopefully the boys will come out fired up next game and not just win at home, but actually not fall behind and dictate the game from start to finish.

Other than that, try to forget this game happened.

Hey, I pretty much predicted this game from the get-go. Even got one of their goalscorers.

Not my fault you failed to heed my warning.

Wow.

Are you saying you tanked this game for us?

No wonder our road record is so decidedly mediocre. Our best GDT players don't even show up!

With the mood I was in for most of the day, I knew the cherry on top would be this kind of game.

Blame whatever higher being you believe in that likes to **** with me.

I would disagree there, I think he looked solid for first NHL game. Playing out of the net was good, rebound control was alright, and his decisions were fine as well- team in front of him today wasn`t good though
