While it’s always great to beat the Bruins, they were a pale comparison tonight to the team that smoked us in the playoffs twice. Not a lot of demons exorcised IMO. One team is on the way up and the other appears to finally be on the way down. I would’ve liked to see us play this years team vs their team from either of those series. Be fun to watch,

This season, the B's fall into the category of "teams we are supposed to beat". In seasons past, that didn't always go so well -- so to see it tonight against a team I greatly dislike was satisfying.

As far as being well oiled, that Lambo is clearly a few quarts low.

It’s a dog day regular season game against a clearly inferior opponent. It’s one notch of many we’re gonna need to be the best. I’m from outside Hartford....I hate the Bruins. I love beating them. This makes my week, which isn’t hard to do as I’ve got the Vids and I’m stuck quarantining. I adore us making them suffer tonight. I just don’t see the exorcism of demons here as they just aren’t that team anymore. They whimpered and showed their belly like one minute in. Jack Edwards was waving the white flag before the puck dropped.

We won. Moving on. This is a cup year or bust for us. We’re too good to not make a run at this.

I'm just glad for tonight anyway that our team won a game in their building, feel like it's been awhile. The fact that it came on a jersey retirement night is pretty cool too. We just gotta keep the train rolling on these cold winter nights. Tonight the train was a bullet train. Beautiful.

We weren’t ready then. We’re as ready as we can be now. It’s a good year as our opponents in general in our conference aren’t unbeatable by any stretch. It’s right there for us to take.

We don't see the 'Canes in Televised Games very often.
It was obvious to see the 'Cane's Speed and quick attacks were hard
for the Bruins to contain. The boys looks very fit. Roddy keeps them sharp.

Bleed I’m not sure what you’re on right now but, the Canes just walked into Boston, scored more goals their than sometime in the 80s and despite them not being as good as I. The past were still 22-11 which isn’t exactly terrible.

I’m happy! It was a great game. It just doesn’t erase the two playoff series like what was being said. It doesn’t come close. They’ve gone from Krejci to effing Haula as a second center, their d is pretty meh and their goalie just came out of hibernation one game ago.

If we beat them in the playoffs like this then it would at least make some sense to talk that way.

Tonight featured the largest margin of victory by the Whalers/Hurricanes over the Bruins since 1987 and the biggest ever in Boston.

I mean we put the damn Broons in the fetal position in the first period. A team that itself has been on fire lately, and we took their will to fight right out of their souls in 20 mins. I know bleed likes to be contrarian and go against the grain often on here, but downplaying last night was eye rolling Debbie Downer silliness.

We outscored them 5-1 when Tuuka was in. We outscored them 2-0 when Ullmark was in. We killed off a 5v3 during a time when they were trying to get back in it. Plenty to be happy for regarding the game.

Even if you think Boston isn't a great team this year, it is a team that this team has had trouble with, to the point of them being a hill that needs to be climbed to reach this team's goals.

In that regard, a dominant performance like this is an important step, whether it shows the Canes players they can play with top teams or it shows them Boston is mortal.
