Well, he was at least 1/3rd responsible for the Gionta goal, so maybe you are on to something.
I posted this in the other thread...in the 3 games against the Isles this year, the Canes have scored 12% of their total goals on the season.
How much is it if you add Vancouver? 25?
One game I was able to watch, and I decided to skip to get some sleep, **** me
And when I will watch next one (maybe tonight), we will lose like 2:1...
Awful goaltending, but very interesting game to watch!
NBC`s infographics were just wrong, many times, you can see that they don`t care about our team
Thanks. So whenever there is a picture of a military tank, it's technically incorrect (this literal explanation is for Rod).
Overall I thought Wallmark acquitted himself well. Nothing flashy and no glaring errors. Almost potted one two. Saw a couple of nifty passes as well.
Tonight will be a test, I think as the Isle's are likely to bring it.
There's a shocker for you!
But Ray Ferraro bringing the Cam Ward hate was about as big of a truth bomb as I've heard any analyst, anywhere, bring to the table. I mean other than the Ho-Sang goal, all of them were saves you'd like your goaltender to make.

That was so refreshing. Nice to have an independent analyst who can call a spade a spade without worrying about what the org thinks.
I really do wonder what Forslund was thinking when Ferraro went off.
Probably taking advantage that he was not on camera by smiling and nodding his head in agreement.
Can't really put the Gionta goal on him.
1st goal: Even though Slavin tipped it, probably should have stopped that.
2nd goal: He stopped the wrap around which was his job, the 3 guys in front letting Gionta get the loose puck was the issue. That's not on the goalie IMO.
3rd goal: On Ward.
4th goal: Nothing he could do, bad TO by Ryan.
I'm probably preaching to the choir, here -- that is the *exact* number of goals/SOG that Lack allowed when Peters called him out. The difference, of course, is that no one expects that Lack should have stopped any of those 4 goals. Ward's, on the other hand, ...
Glad someone else said it, since I can't without reeking of bias.
Not that allowing 2 goals any goaltender in the league should have is much better...
17%
28 Goals in those 4 games out of 168 total.

Seems more likely Lack getting called out was from the culmination of his awfulness. That was his 8th game of the season, and he'd given up 4+ in 4 of them. On the back of last season, which was also a disaster.
Theoretically, on a normal hockey team, if a mediocre starter like Cam is off their game, you can call on the backup to spell them for a bit. I'm sure Peters got tired of not having that option, because Lack couldn't seem to give up less than 4 2 nights in a row.

Didn't that first goal, despite getting tipped, slip in 5 hole. Also, it felt like he was a little deep there too.
My problem with the wrap around was with the overall defense too. However, and I might be asking too much but I thought Ward should have covered up after the initial shot. His glove is right there; it looked like he thought he had it but he didn't.
I'd likely give him the benefit of the doubt if he hasn't been such a tire fire since Jan. 1. Of the 23 games he's played in he's had a SV% below .900 in 13 of them.
I'm just calling it like I see it rather than analyzing a play with built in bias.
