Wherever I'm standing atm
I mean do you disagree he's a 3/4c getting paid 6.1 mil? He's getting 2.4mill less than draisatl lmfao
Wait you actually don't realize what a guy did at 19/20 doesn't determine what he does at 21, 22, etc?

Boy a lot of ahl and junior players better hang up their skates at 19/20. They'll never get better. Not to mention everyone knows there's a decent chance he takes a good long term deal

Nah I think Canes fans are trying too hard to make themselves feel better about signing a 4c to 6 mil lmfao.

Im not even a Habs fan lol

Canes fans have followed the team long enough and closely enough to understand what happened here and why it made sense.

You're struggling to catch up, and I suppose that's understandable if you don't have any context for what you're trying to talk about.

Montréal, Qc.
well enjoy moving forward with Evans who is 25 years old and basically is what he is. but sure take him over the 21 year old that you drafted 3rd overall.
If Kotka was a Hab still you would be laughing at anyone who was trying to say Evans is better than Kotka
It's amazing that Hab players are the greatest ever then once they leave they were crap the entire time and will just be a 4th liner. but a couple months ago he was projected to be a 1st or 2nd line player.... What happened?

Sorry but I was saying the same thing last year. KK finished the regular season with 1 point in 19 games and played himself out of a spot in the lineup to start the playoffs. He then contributed nicely for a few games but finished the last 12 games with 1 goal and 3 assists and zero points in 25 PP minutes. He was never used for DZ faceoffs if the team could help it. All he had to do was to contribute offensively and he still played himself out of the lineup once again.

He DID have value with a relatively cheap contract but now that's gone so good luck to him and you.

Why what inside information do you have?
Do you have actual evidence or spoken to both parties if you are in fact correct?
No? Didn't think so.
So I guess you are in fact..... Speculating

Yes. There is no contract. So there is no agreement. That, and the CBA, is factual evidence. There is no deal. NHL agents do not make secret handshake agreements. Welcome to reality and the adult world.

I have no dog in this fight re: Kotkaniemi, just wanted to point out that this is actually the truth and most players in develpoment leagues or other pro leagues (WHL, AHL, KHL, SHL, etc.) never even get a cup of coffee in the NHL. Terrible argument as a generalization.

Kotkaniemi, even if he never progresses fully beyond a bottom sixer, is already the exception, not the rule regarding being a top-flight hockey player.

Looking at your posts history, you write a lot of crap on the Habs and their players. Say what you want, the Habs will still kick the Leafs' ass in the playoffs despite having no Matthews, Marner, etc. Call it like it is, the Leafs will always be the Habs' little brother in this lifetime and the next.
cool I dont care about their record. actually if I own a player on my dynasty league if it means I win but the leafs lose Ill cheer for my players to win. I also own Nick Suzuki
I might be a Leafs fan but Im a massive Nick Suzuki fan.

actually Im a fan of almost every team. Rivalries mean diddly to me.
its easy for a fan to get defensive about their teams but I literally can't defend Leafs right now. and yeah your prob right. maybe one day they will give me a series win. been almost 18 years since the last one I seen

I may have mentioned they COULD actually have a hand shake deal in place which is speculation just like 95% of the Montreal fan base who all sudden think he will never be more than a 3rd/4th liner

When players leave my team I don't all sudden trash talk them to make my self feel better about them leaving.

I actually like the players overall and cheer for them to do well. Know what that is? That's being an adult about the situation.

I love when obnoxious fans try to welcome me to reality when they have been in a fairy tale the entire time.

When he was a Hab he was the best thing since sliced bread. now that hes gone he's never going to be more than a 3rd/4th liner. it's actually hilarious.

Same thing went for Price. pure trash talking in regular season. then hes playing amazing in playoffs and he's the greatest again.
run into Tampa and get smoked and Price is a joke again.

I could prob give more examples or is this enough reality for you?

Typically the things you hear NHL'ers praising about NC:
- Nice climate (not California or Florida, but basically the next tier down from that)
- Low cost of living
- High quality of life in general
- Ability to live a normal private life without tabloids, stalkers, randos harassing them, etc.
- Good young team

I sarcastically flipped those around as negatives. Does it then describe Montreal? I don't know, I've never lived in Montreal and won't pretend to know how people who live there feel about it.
Montreal is expensive terrible roads . The one good thing is for Quebec everyone speaks English

I don't get why Canes fans get so defensive about anyone saying paying a 4c 6.1 mil is awful. If you take away the name recognition and objectively look at stats, hes a worse Derek Ryan

He had 5 goals in 56 games

He had 5 goals in 19 playoff games (y'know, where it actually matters most?) as a 20 year old. Historically, 9 in 29. All before turning 21.

So what you're saying is that your new 6.1M C isn't actually good enough to play C on the Canes so you had to move him to the W.

That's much better.

You were really upset at the end of this story. This making things up tells us a lot about how much it hurt you!

Yea, we're saying he's not as good as Aho, Trocheck, or JoStaal...OMG WHAT A HOT TAEK!! ...what's controversial about that? So we feel he'd be better off getting a shot in our top 9 at LW where we're short a guy. Give him time to learn the system and gel with his teammates before throwing him to the wolves at C.

Patrick Flatley had 9 goals and 6 assist in 21 playoff games before he was age 21. Turned into a 0.65 pts/game player over 780 NHL games. Ironically, Brind'Amour also had 9 goals in 32 playoff games before he was 21 as well. Which one will KK turn into in the end? :dunno:

Its been what, 3... 4 weeks since this all happened, and the most impressive part about it all is just how dumb people still are over the price of the 1 year contract despite it having been explained over and over again.

Just cause you and others try to explain some narrative, it don't make others dumb if they disagree with your context or justification.

How about you try to explain it all over again? Maybe the 50th time might convince the world to think like you do?

Oh I totally get it for the Canes.

It's the old Massively overpay for a mediocre player at a position you don't need on a one year contract so he he accepts to play for you long-term on a cheap deal kind of gambit. Classic.

You guys are playing 6D chess down there.
