Rask had 45 points two season ago and Nino had 57, Nino is on a long-ass contract and plays wing, Rask plays center and makes less. I don't see either team fleeced the other.
"long-ass contract" - both signed for the same period of time.

Wow, am I missing something? Nino has his warts but he’s a much better player.

You take this and run if you’re Carolina.

Why did Minnesota do this?

Because Nino has become a 4th line winger on this roster, getting passed by two 21 year old rookies (Kunin and Greenway) and a guy who has never played a game for us before (Aberg). At least with this deal we get a bottom 6 center instead of a bottom 6 winger.

Kreider of the west lol. What is that? not living up to expectations?

It's a reference to his advanced stats that suggest he's better than he actually is.

except that's not true. He's played what, a couple of games on the 4th line, when BB was changing everyone up in order to get the team going? Kunin and Greenway haven't passed anyone up at this point. You're making stuff up.

I'd rather Nino but they're both considered cap dumps IMO. Hopefully they can turn it around with their new teams.

Aberg could have been had for free on more than one occasion. On the otherhand Nino is a former top 5 draft pick who is only a couple years removed from a huge year.

Trade a bad player for a good player, cue hf posters saying “wait for them to play more games!”

Don’t make predictions when you’ve been right 9/10 times folks... That 1/10 will never be forgotten :sarcasm:

Where’s the good player? Not saying Rask is better than Nino but Nino has not been good for the past 2 years.

Could the fact that Rask finished last year with an injury, and then cut his hand in September, leading to missing training camp and preseason have anything to do with his performance this year?

All reports were that he had a really solid offseason and was poised for a bounce back year. Then he cut his hand. It's tough to get back up to speed (just look at Nylander), but he looks even slower and more useless, which I didn't think was possible.
