That Jarvis boy turned out ok.We've honestly been cursed with trading for this mythical first liner. I'm really happy he's not just walking to free agency.

Exclude Hall....he could have been acquired directly from Chicago.
It's really
Necas (24 g), Drury (7G) 2nd, 3rd, 4th for
Stankoven (9 goals) & futures of 2026 late 1, 2027 late 1 and two 3rds.
I'd never do that deal.
The perfect Hurricanes player doesn't exi...![]()
LOL f*** me. Yeah that's exactly what we need on this roster, someone who generates a lot of chances but is absolutely abysmal at putting the puck into the net.
My point is that he could have been acquired directly with that 3rd round pick they gave to Chicago. That's a nothing burger.Don't exclude Hall when you paid for him out of the list of stuff you're listing above. This trade and whole situation has truly been a litmus test of logicality for these boards...
You guys realize he's on like their 4th line as a rw behind hintz and Johnston right? You realize how top stacked Dallas is with good vets right? This whole thing has been very disappointing.
I don't understand why MR wouldn't take the supposed $13 million or whatever it was, unless he just doesn't like Rod's system. Which, if he tears it up in Dallas that's going to be really damning on coach.
I'm not particularly thrilled with Stankoven, I know he's a young player who is cost-controlled and I also remember many of you wanting him in 2021 at the draft, but he's got 9 goals in 60 games so far this season. That's, really disappointing. He's also not very big. I'll welcome him to the team but this whole thing has me sour on a lot of stuff, how we run things, style of play, and not being able to keep outside talent.

He started the season playing on their first like with Hintz and Robertson that's when he scored most of his points. And it's not like Dallas is riding their stars hard. Hintz has on average less than 2 minutes more ice time compared to Stankoven. You guys realize he's on like their 4th line as a rw behind hintz and Johnston right? Re; star athletes.....also interview the girlfriend and don't let the stadium attendant dis your family (ie as alleged by Soto on why he went to the Mets)Rumors on Twitter from the same sketchy guy who seems to have actual contacts in the Canes front office seemed to indicate there was a girlfriend who wasn't psyched about Raleigh.
If he never wanted to be here... it showed. The team was 10-3-2 in January, including Rantanen's first 3 games as a Canes. So that means the vibes around this team went from where they were in January to where they've been in 9 games with him on the roster. I don't know how much of a contributing factor it was, but he was a brooding, miserable guy the whole time, and frankly he didn't do much on the ice. I don't think that's an RBA thing. I think that's a "I just got my whole life uprooted to a random place and I don't like it" thing.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Canes get some more pep in their step down the stretch here now that this is all done. It's disappointing in the sense that you wish he'd wanted to be here and would extend. But since that wasn't gonna happen, this is a perfectly fine dismount from the whole experiment.
That's my gripe. I feel like we're low key punting this season.Value wise, I think the Canes did very well. Competitive wise though, they took a big hit in the short term barring further developments.
Hey guys, what kind of draft pick would we have to give up to get 50% retained on Rantanen's $9.25M salary for the remainder of the year?My point is that he could have been acquired directly with that 3rd round pick they gave to Chicago. That's a nothing burger.
Chicago wanted to dispense with him & Hall wanted out too
