I have to say I usually try not to be too hard on Justin Holl. He gets way too much flak and is a decent bottom pairing defenseman when deployed as such (which admittedly rarely happens and makes him frustrating in a top 4 role that Keefe loves him in). Also, he had a really good game overall.


But when he tried that toe drag in OT....I wanted to reach into my screen.

In a series, there are always a game or two like this usually go to OT. You have to win those games to advance. Leafs usually lose them. Not this time. Held firm and gutted out a huge win.

The late tying goal convinced me. Win or lose, that was heart, the stuff you need to get through these wars. Winning it was huge too of course, but, they had me at sticking it out to tie it up late in a game they got outplayed in for 40 minutes.

From what I saw it looked like Stamkos losing it on the ref that they're trying to injure their best players and then grabs Matthews and starts feeding him jabs...

If that's not instigating, while basically telling the ref you're going to do it as payback, I don't know what is.

tbh marner can look as crap as he wants as long as the points keep coming.

He reminds me of Stamkos last year against us. Stamkos wasn't impressive when he wasn't clapping the puck home, but his goals helped Tampa advance whereas we went golfing.

What I DON'T want for sure is Marner owning possession with authority but nothing on the board to show for it.
