Prospect Info: Caps Top Prospects General Discussion Thread Vol. 2 - 2021-22

Sounds like Iorio has had a good camp. Came in ready. Worked on skating. Dude is 6’4. I am perfectly comfortable with him being a leader all season in Hershey next year, developing as a top 4 dee. Getting a lot of minutes. Maybe even getting a couple of injury call-up games. But I would like to see space created for him the following year which means moving TVR or Jensen probably in the offseason.

Love this kid's attitude:
“We’ll have a couple guest speakers and learn about some new things,” Lapierre said. “I think they did a great job, the organization, to do this team building and make sure we learn new stuff, and we don’t just go to a rookie tournament where we play three games and it’s over. There’s a purpose to all of this and so far, it’s been really good.”

I do selflishly miss the scrimmages and what not but the move to prospect development and long term learning the pro game development is probably better.

I love his play through the neutral zone - be it something fancy like that, or just accelerating and using the defender as a turnstile or screener (e.g., his scoring chance in the other clip, and his Golden Goal from the summer).

That was one of the least decelerated spin moves I think I've ever seen among the ones that still proactively used edges on the skates to make it work.

We can watch Ryan Leonard on ESPN+ when they broadcast the Boston College - Michigan State series on October 26-27th. BTW, Leonard assisted on the game-winning goal in OT as B/C beat Quinnipiac in their season opener.

Just noticed the earlier posts on Leonard’s OT assist. Sorry for duplication.
