Prospect Info: Caps Top Prospects General Discussion Thread Vol. 2 - 2021-22

Miro has a goal and an assist in the first minute of his first 3-on-3 game

Hanelt scores 5 hole on a penalty shot, then Leonard says “anything you can do I can do better” and scores 5 hole with the goalie pulled to get the draw

Miro’s team loses to Leonard’s with Miro getting a little chippy throughout. Got suplexed at the end to draw a penalty shot that he scored on, but a Leonard empty netter early had put his team up 2 so it didn’t matter.

Suzdalev left the ice after taking a stick to the mouth, but Cristall can’t convert the penalty shot. Suzy’s back out there now. Miro responds well to the loss and nets two before completing the hat trick with an empty netter

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, but Team Suzy and Cristall (only team with 4 players) just beat Team Leonard in an extended shootout which I believe sends them to the finals against team Chesley and Hofer. Suzy and Cristall each went 1-2 in the shootout with some nice moves, Leonard went 0-2 with a couple unimpressive attempts. Green team (starring Hanelt and Persson) must’ve come in last because they had to clear the ice for the finals.

Finals heads to OT. I missed who got team Chesley’s goal, but Cristall scored on sweet one-timer to tie it. Magnusson checks Suzy into the fake boards hard enough to dislodge them, but then Pierce scores on a one-timer to win it for Team Suzy/Cristall! Congrats to Suzdalev, Cristall, Pierce, Lemay, and their goalie Keller!

Side notes from the eye test of someone who does nothing but puck watch and shouldn’t be taken seriously:

Leonard wasn’t super impressive, but he carried the puck and ran things for his team like a center. Bonus points for being the only guy to skate over to the crowd and give a puck to a kid at the end.

Cristall and Suzy seemed to play the entire time they were on the ice, with Pierce and Lemay switching off. Might’ve been an advantage? Credit to them for not slowing down.

Miro looked like the best guy on the ice to me. Could really see his feistiness coming out when his team was losing, great hands in tight, could’ve had a couple more assists if his teammates had finished chances he created near the net.

Thanks everyone posting clips. Cristall looks like he has a set of hands. Maybe Semin like.

And for real Ive been watching hockey for 20 years and he had some moves Ive never thought of. Throw it off the glass to your self and score. Mind blown

Wow, that Cristall shot was something else. His stick goes from basically parallel to the ice to already in the follow through so goddamn fast, I really don't think I've seen that very often. It sounded mean.

Some nice plays but do remember this is a 3 on 3 half ice game with no whistles.
I would think common sense this is a dev camp and so the focus is skill building and other parts of pro game development. For me I generally pay more attention to the rookie camp in September as more of a gauge in prospect development. Tbh the main thing for me coming out of this as Miro looking recovered from his bout with cancer.

Well yeah, it's a skills camp. Opening the ice for skills is kind of, like, the thing. Don't need to know who can plug up the neutral zone right now, need to see the talent in the cupboard

Early Pronman 2024 draft mock. Looks like the vegas odds currently have them at #11 and a mock draft of Igor Chernyshov, RW, Dynamo Moscow-MHL. Looks like a lot of Dmen at the higher end of the draft for next years.

Looks good. Depth is still ass as is goaltending but still big jump ahead.

And the Pens are stuck at 29 - that alone makes me happy.

What is happening up in Vancouver? You’d think all the losing and selling off would at least be sorta beneficial for their pool, lol.
