I was at least half-joking. But when they draft as though they're talent-starved only to devalue it later on it's hard not to point out the dissonance.
id like to think the current front office/coaching staff will probably be gone by the time the 2022 class has even a year of ahl experience among them/making their debuts
Suzdalev and Miro have at least another year in the WHL/KHL respectfully before they can join the AHL/NHL in miro’s cade rosters, suzdalev could join the NHL if he somehow makes the roster out of camp next year but i doubt that
Who knows with persson, idk how the supposed update to the CBA with SHL players works especially since he signed his ELC right out of the draft, Chesley could sign after this year but based off this year he might want another year, who knows.
Iorio and Lapierre are a year away at least, they will probably see a new HC at least.
McMichael Protas Alexeyev and LuJo who the hell knows

my 2022 draft crush Lane Hutson is up to 6g 11a 17pts in 14gp at Boston University. I am still excited about Chesley but I did really want Hutson

Suzdalev reminds me of Burakovsky. I’ve only watched 5 Pats games this year but that is my initial impression.
from highlights alone he seems a step above. Burakovsky was almost always a feeder, I didn't see him making as many "step above" creative plays so much as doing the right thing at a good NHL talent level. A lot of his highlight reel was capping off McDavid work.

So far Suzdalev seems to create at least a little bit more on his own

Burakovsky only spent one season in Erie (he had been drafted out of Sweden), and didn't spend a ton of time on McDavid's line after around November or so. McDavid's primary linemates in 2013-14 were Dane Fox and Connor Brown (yes, that Connor Brown). Burakovsky was on the Otters' second line with Michael Curtis and Dylan Strome (yes, that Dylan Strome also). Burky also added a point/game performance at the WJHC that year during Sweden's silver medal run (although that was dwarfed by Filip Forsberg's 12 points in 7 games).

suzy is so good lol

I've been avoiding saying it but he really does seem like he has the potential to be something. They did good here

edit: only a lot of room because he beat the third guy at the blueline too, and then shifted gears fast enough that no trailing winger was even close. That's not so bad.

While I wanna get hyped for Suzdalev, that game looks so slow. I don't think he'll ever have that kind of time in the NHL.

He seems tailor made for a guy who's way to good for the league he's playing in, but probably not ready for the NHL. Wish he could be playing in the AHL.

he’s obviously not ready for the nhl right now, but he’s definitely trending in the right direction. sure he’s on a team with bedard and howe but he’s been mostly playing the second line without them and has been putting up very very good production for a whl rookie. this year is fine for him to be in the whl, get used to american ice and some consistent top playing time (which he definitely doesnt get in hershey this year, then hopefully move to the ahl next year, and go from there

That is great to hear about Chesley. Would love our next 1RD from within system. That is 4 years away when JC74 is done. Love to see him in Hershey next year with call-up opportunty late in year. Think he needs a year at pro level.
