He's not a very smart defensively. Often goes out of position looking for a big hit.

But he's big and hits hard. Dinosaur GM's dream. I'd say he's valued at around 2nd rounder but if a contender wants him then late 2nd likely doesn't do it so desperate team throws late 1st in there a la Chiarot.
Assistant coach of defense Mitch Love was in the Flames organization, so maybe he has knowledge on how Zadorov plays. The way Caps d-men are dropping like dead fly's, they might have to make a trade move and they have plenty of LTIR space to do it.

Zadorov is like a muted version of Ristolainen to me
Is that to say he's big but not physical enough for his size?

More like he does some of the dumbass defensive stuff Ristolainen does but probably a little less often, however he’s also not ever going to sniff 40+ points (not that Ristolainen has done it lately either, but at least it’s happened)

Since Backstrom came off PP1 Caps are 6-1-1 (power play still shitty though)

And just as we all predicted, the Caps are 6-1-1 in their last 8, just took five out of six points playing three games in four nights against Florida, New Jersey, and the Islanders, and sit third in the Metro 11 days from Thanksgiving.
Really should have beaten Florida too. That one on DK.

We all knew, we needed and injection of youth. This is what it looks like.

It all started with Carbery's 2nd intermission speech vs NJ back on Oct 25th.

I don’t even know why I respond in the Ovechkin threads on the main

I do it to rub salt in the wound for the haters. Every goal he scores to get closer to 894 enrages them, it's beautiful to watch.

In other news, the Metro race is super tight, but we technically occupy a playoff spot right now.
Team bounced back very well from the first 4-5 games.

It's going to be a shame seeing him sitting or sent down to Hershey when Mantha comes back while Oshie keeps getting force fed minutes.
If I'm bmac I'm looking to move oshie to a contender at the deadline before everyone else realizes he might be cooked.

Anyone understands why Carbery replaced Strome on the 1st line?
I mean we've scored the 3rd fewest goals in the league this year...not so sure it was "working". Gotta keep mixing it up until you find something that sticks and works throughout the lineup.

Highly skeptical that BMac will move any of the core pieces. He's signed them to retirement contracts, and it seems like they will all retire here.
I don’t put Oshie on the same level of 8, 19, and 74, or even 43. And I don’t care how core he is, one point in 13 games for a guy in the top six and on PP1 is not going to cut it for a team wanting to make the playoffs again.

I’d personally trade Oshie before Mantha at this point. Osh is cooked. I could see Mac giving Oshie the Brooks Laich treatment.

I wanted to say Brooks wasn't a GMBM player, but I forgot he's been apart of the staff the entire time.

I don't believe at all that he'd do that, but I guess it's not true to say he's never moved someone considered "core" before. But I also couldn't stand Laich and would think you'd need multiple Laich quality players to even sniff Oshie's jockstrap.

Wrong Brooks. Laich isn't in the staff. Orpik is.
