How are the years which each are having - which, in terms of results and confidence, are galactically better than what they did here - not a serious indictment of how goalies are managed in this organization
#FireScottMurray

Hawks fan here who has been to plenty of Caps games this year. Do y’all think they’ll fire Laviolette at season’s end?
His contract expires after this year. I suspect they'll just opt not to renew it.

Does anyone think this organization is taking a hard look at why both Samsonov and Vanecek have been able to do with their new teams what they could not do with the Caps - which is to each become #1 goalies able to win tough games down the stretch.

Also Stephenson, Burakovsky, Siegenthaler, Orlov

They're both playing for way better teams, and their numbers aren't that much better than they were for us? I might be mistaken so feel free to correct me here.

Samsonov and Vanecek are the right type of goalie for a good team. Good enough and won’t break the bank.

We were putting them into too many positions to win us close games. But if you have an offense than can regularly score 5x per game, yeah they’re more than fine.

Yes, they are on better teams, but they might also be making those teams better.

This organization has let a lot of high end talent walk away, for nothing. Some were cap related, some were banished.

This season cannot end soon enough.

I feel like they knew those guys and their limitations extremely well. Put decent players in a top lineup and you get some success. Get back to me after they both win a playoff series where they were playing great.

And that just doesn’t happen in the postseason…..so……

Vanecek is the exact same guy he was here, but Samsonov was both insanely unlucky and treated like crap by Lavi. And people's hate boner/blame game on him is ridiculous when he's playing very well up north. It was an absolute miss to let him walk for nothing.

I don't get why everyone is being so hard on Kuznetsov this year. He's second in the league in xGAR, behind only uosuɐɹqpnפ ʞᴉɹƎ.

We’re almost at the point where each win will delay this organizations ability to compete for a Cup by seasons.

Tank, you fools.

This is ridiculous. The difference between picking 11th and 14th is marginal.

I don't know how anyone can still think this after publishing this tankathon list over and over again.

The difference between 12th and 14th is marginal.

The difference between 11th and 12th is enormous, because you go from having SOME chance at Bedard to NONE.

97% of the time it's literally no difference.

With 3% it's not even unusual to go stretches of 100 or more without hitting.

Valuing a 3% lotto chance higher than winning hockey games is something only losers do.

Valuing winning meaningless hockey games vs. a chance at a lottery ticket is something only short sighted people do.

What frustrates me about people claiming that a couple spots in the draft is nothing, is that ignore it’s a couple spots each round. I don’t care if it’s the first round, third round, trading up or trading down. The higher the picks the better your situation. Is it astronomical? No, but it’s not nothing, and when it’s all you have to root for……

People here have been wanting the team to lose all season.
Not true

Problem is Detroit and Buffalo are already in full tank mode with little chance Washington will finish wit fewer points. I think we can probably add Ottawa to the tank mode list so it’s looking bleak for even a minuscule chance at Bedard.

The difference between picking 11th and potentially winning the lottery is a generational superstar and Cup contention for 15 years.

They should have started the process 2 years ago but instead handed out thank you contracts to washed up core players.

People here have been wanting the team to lose all season.
I’ve been wanting them to lose following their 2nd consecutive first round exit.

The longer they grasp the more the bandaid will hurt.

3%>0%

It may not be us, but some team with a 3% chance definitely could win. And it does happen.

I guess you missed this post:
