last game, notice how hes played what position? 3C. did that prevent NB from "playing"? right, it didnt

who held lavi from doing this from the beginning?

youre talking bs calling my point nonsense
You said “pity lavi decided to insert both Backstrom and Wilson at the same time”…..that’s nonsense, but whatever, you're not the first guy to know it all.

Hmm, interesting. Have to imagine Mantha would be going the other way and I’m not sure Kane is who they need given his struggles this year but it at least gives me hope that they know the forward group needs more talent.

Not our style and who is this source?

What’s not our style?

He’s a guy who seems to have connections as he’s been the first to break numerous stories including jersey leaks and a few signings and trades. If you don’t find it credible that’s fine. I’ll add a disclaimer to my original post.

Trading for the big name at the deadline?

I'm expecting a 3rd round pick to Columbus for a random 3rd liner.

Eh, I don’t know. Mac has traded for Mantha and Shattenkirk at various deadlines. Shattenkirk was the biggest rental name at the deadline and the Mantha trade was significant as well. He traded for Oshie too but that was in the off-season. I think if there’s a deal to be made that GMBM thinks will help the team then he’ll do it.

Jack Johnson is a perfect trade for the Caps: Big, slow and old veteran with championship pedigree and a history of playing for the Pens. He checks all the boxes.

My only concern would be whether he is injured often enough to fit here, but if not im sure he will be once he gets here.

And getting Kane seems weird.

Carlson on the ice today.

I don't see any gruesome stitch tracks or dangling ears or even additional protective gear here. The mystery continues...

What big, slow, and old veterans are currently on their blue line? Maybe Irwin who wouldn't be playing if Carlson was healthy? They've built a blue line that can all skate and play the puck.

Adding one of the only forwards in the league who are worse than Ovechkin and Kuznetsov defensively would certainly be a choice!

Even if Kane wasn't as bad as he is defensively I don't think he is a good fit. He's a pure rental and if they are going to give up a premium asset I don't think it makes much sense to go after a pure rental. They'll need a new top 6 forward or two next year as well so I'd instead look at adding via trade in the offseason if nothing can come together before the TDL.

Not to continue banging the Timo Meier drum, but I'd rather give up 2 or 3 good assets for an extended Meier at the TDL than give up 1 good asset for an older and ineffective Patrick Kane.

I mean, yea I’m sure GMBM has at least called. Kane has a full NMC, and the Caps were one of like 3 teams he has said he’d go to. So who knows how recent, or serious this inquiry was. My money is on NYR because of course.

What on earth would CHI even want with Mantha though? I guess they don’t care about salary, and just need some over-hyped NHL bodies to sell to the fans as they tank.
