2 goal game✅ Intellectual interview✅ Says Kakko had his best game of the year✅ Acknowledges his slow start ✅ 4 goals in 6 games✅ Sounds like a leader✅ Hated by entire HFBoards✅ Must be Ryan Strome✅

Hey I like Strome he just pisses me off sometimes and I wish we had given him a 1 year deal.

He does sound like a future coach.

Solid effort. Satisfying win. Keep shit rolling.

Kakko with his best game of the season, he seems motivated to stay on that line but it also looks like practice is translating over to consistent shifts as well. Strome called it Kakko's best game of the season and credited his tic-tac-toe goal with Panarin to Kakko's defensive play to get it started.

Igor is getting going, which is great.

Lindgren played great, our guys that can grind are very important playing teams like the Caps.

Trouba has been silently much better this year imo

Panarin is really something special, which is obvious... but I'm talking about his shifts at the end of the game, he goes out there and forechecks/backchecks his ass off in a pure effort to win this game and close it out. Real hard nosed play. Not a lot of superstars put forth that same effort in the regular season, let alone the early parts of it.

Bitteto growing up a big Rangers fan, not scoring in 3 years, having his last 3 professional goals disallowed, and then doing that was really cool. This will be one of the most memorable hockey moments of his career (despite the fact in the post game interview he said he blacked out when it happened haha)

Panarin and Igor goofing around about the Georgiev/Deangelo incident was funny but also a sign of good things. @Machinehead mentioned it too, but it is signs of good spirits. Feels like getting Tony out with how he has been the last month is just like a big sigh of relief for these guys.

3-0-1 in the last 4. Giddy up
When you have an incident like that, it can go the other way too. That's why I'm happy with the response.

Props to the staff on the special teams. PP not converting as much as it should, but if they keep moving the puck like that and Mika recovers from.... whatever, points will come. The PP movement looks lethal.
The PK has been outstanding as well and against the Pens and Caps no less, who have had great PP's themselves. Wonder how much is DQ and how much can be credited to Martin.

Pretty much all of it.

They've been so much better defensively overall. The offense has taken a hit but a lot of that has to do with Mika going from Astral traveling to traveling via Ass.

Had to copy my post from the end of the GDT here: Something has to give here with Howden. I’m really curious as to how he is viewed inside the organization.

I just really can’t get over how poor his skill level is. For a kid who came up in Canadian major juniors, played in the WJC, highly touted high pick, 3 years in the NHL. And his skill level is just horrible. It might be worse now than it was when he was a rookie honestly.

I just think back to how many plays were created by Jesper Fast for example that started with him receiving a pass from his skates to his stick, or stick handling through traffic, or one timing a puck in an awkward position. And that’s a career bottom 6 player. Howden should be able to do those things. But he simply can’t.
