What a game by Bentley...who has another of my former NAHL guys on the team! Jake Black. The stars aligned for them but couldn't pull it off. Bad ice, choppy play, the constant net stoppages and BC holding their sticks just a little too tight from nerves... Glad to see Lenny move on.

Yeah, I think that one that Lenny put five feet above the wide open net was probably due to nerves.

I’m watching on a non-DVR TV in my office. What did he do?
Leonard completely occupied the slot defenseman, and got attention from others. They were so worried about defending him, they let Hagens have the wrap around.
Side note, who knew Vinny Cerrato's kid Charlie made the Big 10 all freshman team for Penn State? Kid can fly, and is definitely a better hockey player than his dad was a football executive.

Also, Denver looks tough, so Leonard may be here soon.

I know he drew at least one penalty and overall seemed unfazed.

He definitely controls the play in the offensive zone like very few other juniors. He's always a step ahead mentally and it's chiefly what makes up for any pace limitations. Great vision.
Is there an NHL player you’d compare him to stylistically?

Some of the Minny players are starting to sign. Where is Chelsey?
C&P my post from main prospect forum thread on him

I'm still assuming he signs. But given differences between respective teams in things like contention status and cap ceiling, I suspect it's easier for a team like Chicago to negotiate aspects such as performance bonuses and ELC burn. So it might take a bit longer to hammer out the details. Still plenty of time left to get him into games if needed.

More Minny players just signed. I’m starting to think he may not.

This is a good take. I don’t believe playoff games count towards ELC burn. But i believe AHL regular season (pro) games do count. Can someone confirm that.

Have to believe Chesley will sign with Caps shortly. And the whole idea that he doesn’t think there is a path is just weak sauce. Any player that thinks that way probably just isn’t that good (see Priskie). He will likely have to play a year in Hershey but then TVR and JC74 are up (although i think JC extends for two years). Timing is good for Chesley now.

True. I’m just wondering if he doesn’t see a path to getting playing time anytime soon.

That'd be some bad judgement on his part. Play in Hershey most next season with a few call up games, and then he could be a regular in 2026-2027 after TVR and JC74 are off the books (though I think Carlson signs for another year or two). If that isn't a great path for a quality player on a fantastic team, then I don't know what is.
