Kelowna was 1-5-0 averaging 2.333 gog without Cristal, 8-4-2 averaging 4.714 gpg since he got back
Now up to third in points.

Since Leonard's slow start that had some worried, he's put up 7 G+4 A in the past 5 games with 30 SOG. BC is 4-1 in those games; Leonard has 4 GWG. (And all 4 came while the game was tied.)

And he's putting up those numbers despite having a linemate with a <3% shooting percentage and BC having a terrible PP that's ranked in the bottom third of NCAA DI (although it looked good in their 1 opportunity last night). Neither of those are going to stay that bad/unlucky through the season.

There's a good argument that the Caps have the best player (not necessarily the best prospect, just the player you'd take for a game today) in both the CHL and the NCAA.

For me what sticks out with Leonard is that he does have a pro shot now. He also really knows how to use his teammates and be defensively responsible. Interesting to compare Smith last year with Hagens how completely different styles of center they are where Smith would constantly be using his speed to back off defenses and pass back to his wingers versus Hagens who does not have that speed but has better hockey sense. Teams this season have been decent at slowing down their transition offensive but last night started really seeing that comes back this year.

Leonard's clearly injured and has been for two weeks now. I assume (and hope) it's not serious, but it's affecting him just enough.

Nope. He got injured during the 2nd Maine game and aggravated it last night. Their coach mentioned it. I'd bet that's why he wasn't on the PK tonight.
I do recall when it looked like he got dinged but didn't know it was still bothering him. Hasn't effected his goal scoring.

Schedule should help with no back to backs for a good while. A game next Friday the 29th then one on Dec. 4th.

If Lappy gets back to clicking and Miro's trajectory stays where it is, factor in Cristall and Leonard in what looks like pretty short order...? I'm about to say something jinxy, so I'll shut up now.

Actually gonna be hard to get (and keep) all of these kids in Washington. gotta have vets and only so many middle 6 spots. Would be great if one of them surprised and became a legit top line player.
