Who of note does that leave in camp?

Johanson is one that I expected to be gone in the first set of cuts.

Edit: lol nevermind. Spoke too soon

So is this what's left after Waivers/Cuts/Loans ?

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Vrana-Kuznetsov-Wilson
Panik-Eller-Sprong/Sheary
Hagelin-Dowd-Hathaway

Orlov-Carlson
Dillon-Schultz
Chara-Jensen
Siegenthaler-TvR

Samsonov
Vanecek

Plus:
Pinho
Fehvruary
Anderson
and I guess McMichael will get a look?

Interested to see which of Sheary or Sprong get waived and which gets to play. I'm not sure there's anything else up for grabs, honestly, unless they surprise us and waive one of their 8D or something.

I don’t think either one of those guys will get waived. One will be on the 3rd line and the other 13th forward.

Looks like Phino and Fehervary will make the taxi squad along with players who clear waivers. They’re waiver exempt so they would have gotten sent to Hershey with the other prospects if that was their destination.

Do guys need to clear each time they move up or down from the taxi squad? If so, that sucks.
If so it seems like suicide to not have a few waiver exempt kids in there - otherwise if you get a guy or two claimed you could be completely stuck.

Edited to include stuff I googled about taxi rules - per TSN.
NHL teams get to have four to six players on taxi squads after they clear waivers, essentially expanding the size of the team beyond the 23-man limit when teams submit their rosters to the league on Tuesday.

Players on taxi squads can be put on the active roster as late as 5 p.m. ET on a a game day, giving clubs a better chance to having four lines, three defensive pairings and two goaltenders even if rosters take a hit because of COVID-19 protocols

Wonder if teams will ask guys if they're ok with letting his contract get buried while still traveling with the boys....

Is certainly a different pitch to riding the bus in minors for a few albatross contracts around the league.

ICYMI Alexa Shaw took Rob Carlin's spot on NBCSW pregame (starts Thursday) and Bruce Boudreau has joined NBCSW as a commentator with Alan May.

Surprised Bruce isn't coaching because obviously it's what he still wants to do but eager to see his insight on the team as an analyst
Bruce is back living in Hershey from what I’ve seen. He’s been spotted around town a lot and he just purchased a junior team that will play in historic Hersheypark Arena

I have suggested that this is where Anderson may end up

They could give him something like a 1-way 1 year $750k contract. It wouldn't count against the salary cap unless he goes from the Taxi Squad to the Caps roster. I'm hoping the Caps don't lose Anderson on waivers because of right now, the only two teams that might want to pick up a goalie are the Blackhawks and the Devils. Anderson might be able to compete for a roster job with the Hawks. With the Devils he might be able to backup Blackwood.

So with both the baby Caps goalies on the team, this adjusts the team's average age back downwards after skyrocketing with the Chara signing. This is how you bring balance back into the Force.
