Well after all the free agency just has settled did we make Backstrom the highest paid player in this off-season

Backstrom and Schultz together doesnot worth more than $7m per year. Terrible work by GM here. Forsberg trade was not so bad in comparison to these signings.

Carlson usually takes the weaker guy.

Handedness just makes it unlikely. Of the four, Orlov's the only one who's played both sides without it being a debacle, and they're not going to force something odd like that when there's no need to. If Schultz does well, I guess a few minutes of that here and there when trailing in the third is possible, but I would still expect Orlov-Carlson to be favored there.

I really like the navy blues. I know people don't like the block W and think it doesn't work as a main logo but I like this. Feels neat and clean. I think I just like the color navy blue in general.

I don't mind the red screaming eagle so much (my profile pic lol..) but not a fan of the capitol dome logo shoulder patches.

Only way I'm ok with the current 3rds going away ONLY if they, and their white version, become the regular home and away (and go back to the original larger font with each letter sewn directly to the jersey like the originals).

Caps originals are classic. They NEVER should have changed. The flying eagle and weagle are fine for 3rds and 4ths but don't become a noob franchise that can't hold on to its original identity as special - particularly when the original jerseys are as iconic as Habs/Hawks/Red Wings and others.

And don't give me the 'they're'bad luck' extra jumbo mumbo-jumbo. All the original six teams had bad spells with their classic identities and didn't shift to some cartoon jersey.

And the current piping happy main jerseys can just go away. Piping maybe belongs on a 57 Chevy, but not a hockey jersey. Most teams are realizing that (Calgary and Buffalo say hi).

I read the RMNB post on it and apparently Adidas is the one pushing for new third jerseys which is why they are going away from their current old school ones. Adidas wants to cash in on jersey sales.

Also, this twitter designer recreates the jerseys off of what someone describes to him what they look like. They could be a little different depending on the quality of info he received

-Hated the blue/gold screaming eagle. The red/white version is better but still blah. The angled striping is garbage.
-The Block W w/stars is a good logo, maybe add a color collar, or add something to the shoulder and I think you got a good one.
-The best sweater we have right now is the third jersey throw back. If you HAVE to change the third sweater, make that one a primary, don't lose it. Its the best sweater we have ever worn.

Always good to have a new opportunity to buy a different Caps look. They’ve produced *roughly* 9 markedly different jerseys in their history. So another 1-2 would be nice.
