Smith isn’t the main problem but I’d like him to never be in the lineup again

In the big picture Smith simply doesnt make sense for the franchise that he gets more ice time post-re-build vs last season. It's a gaping hole that needs to be filled before goaltending IMHO.

Goaltending’s a wayyyyy bigger hole than the 6D. With Nemec/Miller we should have the replacement anyway

Nobody survives losing their top two players, don't be such a doofus.
WTF? Did you just start watching hockey yesterday? There's plenty of examples of teams with depth who survive two top players being out of the lineup.

The Penguins in their heyday didn't lose any ground at all with two generational HOF players out of the lineup. The Hurricanes have no trouble winning games when they get significant injuries. The Avalanche won their division last year while missing their #1 generational D-man for a huge chunk, and two top six forwards out almost the entire year. The Rangers are currently missing their goalie who is the best in the league and their #1 D-man...they've looked fine in those games so far.

Shall I go on?

Teams that have depth are supposed to be built to survive these things at least in the short term. Are we not a team that supposedly has depth?

Buyers remorse for extending Ruff starting NEXT year.

Ruff needs to go if we miss the playoffs.

Unless Nico and Jack are out literally the rest of the year.

Team didn’t look particularly good before they got hurt, but they weren’t a complete embarrassment either.

Once again, Ruff is lucky he survived to make it to last year and wasn’t fired after 21-22. We owe him shit for last year.
Coach contracts don’t matter our owner has a gazillion dollars

I thought it was weird a team was getting rid of a high goal scoring RFA

Now I see why. The fact that this dude somehow got more money than Bratt is astounding.

Wait you think it’s weird an awful team got rid of a prime aged guy who was playing really well? That’s just you not understanding how things work.

Agree, honestly. It's a much easier hole to fill, so fill it ASAP. the fact that this guy is getting ST time is maddening for a team at even this early stage of its window.

I think the best spot for Meier is to staple him to Hughes wing. But you’re gonna need someone on the other side who has some two way awareness. Wouldn’t hate the Haula experiment again if I am being honest.

Still, f*** Vitek.

I’m tired of how many chances he’s gotten this year, for a guy that I don’t even think management gives a single shit about.

It seems more about keeping Schmid out then keeping Vanecek in.

He needs to ride Schmid like Daws in 2021-2022 or this time he may not keep his job.

Meier wants the puck on his stick. Him playing with Hughes doesn't really work.
