After Tuesday’s game I’m going to be away until after Thanksgiving. Initially I was pissed that I was going to miss watching 5 games. Now I’m sort of relieved.

Unfortunately Ruff may need to go sooner than that if we can’t snap out of this and adjust to these two injuries. We need not to collapse right now. This feels like the moment when we’ve got to stabilize at the very least, adjust and find a way to win some games so as not to fall out of it early.

absolutely inexcusable. Pathetic.

Ruff’s system is essentially structure-less, and it relies on superb puck management to combat that. Plus at the very least solid goaltending. The former was the primary issue in many of the losses last season, and now you are adding on maybe the worst goaltending in the league alongside Edmonton. This plus the one thing I’ve really noticed today is the complete lack of commitment to the defensive side by most of the forwards. So many fly-bys and careless habits.

Before the season: we have more than enough depth to cover for a couple of injuries in the top 6.

Now: we can't expect the Devils to not look like a lottery team when they have two top six players out.

Nobody survives losing their top two players, don't be such a doofus.

There’s just no fallback. Lindy Ruff hockey thrives off of the talent. We don’t have the talent with them out and he doesn’t have a B gameplan
