I used to really like Hell's Kitchen. It closed during covid and reopened recently as Burke's Tavern. Definitely on my list of places to check out this season.

Oh wait I think I am confusing the two... Hell's kitchen? Which one was down the street about 100 yards from the entrance? Small dark place on the corner?
Hell's Kitchen was on Lafayette but on the opposite side of the train tracks. It's a 3-4 block walk to the arena.

i dont know hells kitchen but i assumed it was part of the area that got built up and had a bunch of restaurants near each other

Yeah I was talking about that place. The first year they open I went to that bar before every game....I don't think there was anything else in the immediate area the 1st year?

No. Hell's Kitchen was on the Iron Bound side of the train tracks. It just reopened as a new space. Personally, I've never been a fan of the spots on Edison Place across from the arena.

I don't think it's Ruff as much as it's because he's got a 2 year deal and I can't see them healthy scratching him not even 10% into the season and not even 5% of the way through his new contract.
I didn't like this signing (not for 2 years I didn't) when it happened, but I wasn't very vocal about it (I had goalie issues to bitch about), but I said when people were penciling him in as the ''#7 defenseman'' I kept saying, I don't think he was signed to be the #7 and I don't think he'll be the #7 at any point earlier than maybe at the end of the season at the very earliest. That was just wishful thinking. There were times that Johnsson on waivers seemed like wishful thinking too, so maybe it could happen soon where he's a healthy scratch.

They seem to be giving Bahl enough opportunity to eventually take the spot...I personally think Smith is more of an insurance policy for not having to rely on a young defender with no experience. If Bahl is capable he will take that position regardless of Smith's contract.

He lost in his one start against the Leafs but he only gave up 3 on 39 shots and that was his first NHL loss since 2019-20.
His crazy run last season was for only 5 games but he’s not some gimme. Not sure how good he’ll be but I’d honestly take Kuemper right now if I got a choice.

Ruff would rather double shift Jack into the ground. He knows he is on the hot seat so he's going to ride his horses. I don't think he's terribly worried about Holtz development.

Positive first vibe on the Nico Oreo Jersey jersey on my way to the Rock. A NYPD officer came to say it looks cool and it drew the attention of a group of college kids who asked ME for directions to the Rock from Penn St 
i told them to take the NJ transit train but they said that didnt sound right... oh well, hope they make it to the game.

Hell's was a good spot. At least Hobby's 8s back and looks great from the outside haven't been in yet.

The new spot in that place - Burke's- is solid.
More of a bistro/cocktail bar vibe but they serve great pizza "until they run out of dough." The owner's a great guy as well.
