Holtz is going to hurt himself badly if he tries to play like Ovechkin. Relentless, physical style that would wear down most guys in the league.

Calling @StevenToddIves for good places to watch a game in NYC.

10 years ago I would've had a full list, but alas my forties hit and I'm not going to be on a barstool with any regularity.

In my experience any real sports bar will put on whatever game you want to watch as long as it isn't Sunday.

I would avoid midtown at all costs however.

As others have stated though, if you're near penn station or the wtc the ride to Newark is quick and easy. Even if you don't want to go inside the arena the bars outside of it will offer an infinitely better experience for a Devils fan.

For an even quicker trip to a spot with a solidly Devils crowd I've had good times at Texas Arizona in Hoboken. I've run into a few players there after games ended. It's right outside the PATH station.

Arena bar was a cool place in the 1st year the rock opened...There was a bar in the train station that was fun to go after the games too that is no longer there.

A new place opened up called there now but seems more of a club restaurant kinda thing instead of just a bar but the reviews aren't good either. I don't remember arena bar alienating Devils fans cause I rarely went there but I remember the shooting is what made them lose the place originally.

if i remember correctly. i think arena bar was cool with fans pre game wearing team jerseys and whatnot but post game wanted a club thing upstairs and would deny the people (devils fans that supported his establishment) that help pay his lease

i met the owner on the rock's opening night way back. we talked for a decent amount of time and the excitement of devils hockey there. wouldve been great for business

but ive soured on the guy. and no i will not "de-sour and sweeten"
