I didn’t say anything about the goals he gave up tonight (even though I think goals 3 to 5 were definitely stoppable).

All I’m saying is that if Mac makes the save Lindgren makes, we’re all saying it’s a big save, regardless of the flubbed shot. He still had to come across and make a big save. It was still a great chance.

Yes, everything was a completely, unstoppable, high grade snipe that the goalie had no chance on.

5 goals on 18 shots, apparently none were stoppable.

Like I said earlier in the GDT pretty much anything that gets ripped is justified. Ripping Blackwood for bad goals is justified. Ripping Severson and Bratt for the shitty turnovers that led to said bad goals is also justified. This is a perfect example of the 'they equally suck' defense that few people actually care to use here.

Scoring goals is part of the game though. You can have a 100 shots on goal but if you only score 1 you probably wont win. They need to start burying their chances when it matters, not in the third period down by 4. Who knows what happens if they get up by 2 or 3 in the first (they had at least 4 or 5 prime chances), maybe Blackwood doesnt implode. This is a game of momentum and capitalizing on your chances is crucial. Yes goaltending should be able to steal you a game here and there, but the way some people talk around here is as if he should be doing that every night.

So yes, that's worth HATING the player. He's a POOR PERFORMER at the most essential and important position in the god damn game, that's why he's HATED!

Usually the big culprit in the losses to Washington was them just grinding us into oblivion and beating us up. Tonight there’s no one to blame but themselves. A winnable game that they just gave away in the 2nd with Peewee level incompetence.

Interesting. I didn't see the 2nd but saw our 2nd goal....in the 3rd when we down 5-1...at some point we have to look at how ineffective this offense has been.

People keep talking about the shots being lopsided and expected goals as if these things are positive things and that we'll eventually break through...I think these numbers are actually showing us how bad we are at scoring goals with endless opportunities.
