It may have been tongue in cheek here, but these narratives exist throughout the season, which was the point of my initial post last night.

Narratives are always going to exist. Certain narratives exist because we went 10 years without playoffs, developed semi-PTSD because of it and used narratives and humor to cope with the utter failure that time period was.

“It’s not that the team is bad, it’s because they always play poorly on national games/afternoon games/Sunday games”
“It’s not that Staal is underperforming. He’s simply jealous of Jeff Skinner and regularly gives Skinner concussions as retaliation.”
etc.

Yes, they do exist. And they deserved to get called out when the narratives are factually incorrect.

Time is relative. A week between games feels like 4.5 billion years. The upcoming election feels like it’s been happening since time immemorial. The time between getting off work and going to bed passes in milliseconds.
I can't wait til the next time I can watch a sporting event without being inundated with "Trump = Nazi" or "Kamala is for They/Them" ads back to back to back for every f***ing commercial break

Well, depending on who wins, you’ll either be free until the congressional elections start or you “won’t have to worry about elections ever again.”

Sorry Necas, ovie you are not

He didn't want to sign for 8 here.
I'm not sure that's accurate....or exactly accurate....he didn't want to sign for 8 years for what the Canes were offering.
He's a smart kid and RBA trusts him, so I imagine he'll bounce back.
I was at yesterday's game and when you watch Drury, that smart kid, makes so many good plays that often go unnoticed....winning puck battles, making the right pass, winning big faceoffs, and playing responsible defense....always. That's why Rod loves him and rightly so.

What a pro

Yeah, him and Tripp have found some chemistry together. I loved the quote from last night late in the 2nd period. Tripp was talking about how the Caps are likely going to be worn out “because they’ve played 4 periods in the last 24 hours.” And Mike responds with something like “You’re probably right”, to which Tripp goes “Actually, I’m wrong because they’ve played 5 periods, not 4.”

we either make jokes about Attorney General Roy Cooper investigating NHL teams he doesn't like (he's coming for you, Islanders) or we make jokes about all the brown people Trump is promising to round up and put into camps
