Narratives are always going to exist. Certain narratives exist because we went 10 years without playoffs, developed semi-PTSD because of it and used narratives and humor to cope with the utter failure that time period was.

If you listen to the call from Mike on the Necas goal, his voice kind of rises in pitch near the end. That's because he accidentally knocked over a piece of equipment by the booth and apparently had to catch it last second so it wouldn't fall on the fans below.

I'm not sure that's accurate....or exactly accurate....he didn't want to sign for 8 years for what the Canes were offering.

He's a smart kid and RBA trusts him, so I imagine he'll bounce back.

I was at yesterday's game and when you watch Drury, that smart kid, makes so many good plays that often go unnoticed....winning puck battles, making the right pass, winning big faceoffs, and playing responsible defense....always. That's why Rod loves him and rightly so.

Yeah, him and Tripp have found some chemistry together. I loved the quote from last night late in the 2nd period. Tripp was talking about how the Caps are likely going to be worn out “because they’ve played 4 periods in the last 24 hours.” And Mike responds with something like “You’re probably right”, to which Tripp goes “Actually, I’m wrong because they’ve played 5 periods, not 4.”
