David Savard kind of intrigues me. I wanted Detroit to get him in the off-season last year and think he could still be a good 4/5/6 option on D.

3.5 mil, 3 years left. I’d give up Tuomisto as a starter for him. It’s not a ton of relief for MTL but it helps.

I also like the idea of nabbing Alec Martinez from Vegas. What would it take to get him?

Nate Schmidt in WPG also has some value as a PMD but isn’t quite worth 5.95 mil for the next 3 seasons. What would WPG want in a reasonable trade for him?

And DET would take Mrazek from TOR but they would definitely have to pay for it.

I personally do not care for Savard but I'm thinking the habs keep him as a veteran presence since Petry is likely on his way out.

Habs have a few cap dumps they can get rid of but nothing they can't ride out since they don't need the cap space for at least 3 years and a lot of bad ones will be off by then...Hoffman, Armia, Byron, Drouin, Savard off the top of my head. Gallagher and Price will be just halfway done which hurts but that's a problem for later.

Compher for a late pick (1 year left at 3.5 mill).

Would also send EJ (1 year left at 6 mill, but has limited NTC (19 team trade list), and he's expansive, would cost to get rid of him).

You'd also need to pay something to get rid of Comphet bud...

I mean, he's overpaid, but there's no need for body shaming. :sarcasm:

I think there is a way that the Wings can take on cap dumps while also improving their team for next season. Looking for overpaid players that maybe don’t fit the system anymore (Gostisbehere last season) and aren’t on long term deals.

Nate Schmidt as been traded the last 2 offseasons, both times for a 2022 3rd round pick. I don't know that the Jets look to move him, but if they did, I imagine the ask would be roughly the same. Good player, great person but not quite earning his $6M per year IMO.

His hips are shot. The guy was mostly a 4th liner this year and his best years were with Gaudreau. I don’t know if there’s a bounce back for Monahan, especially in Detroit.
I'd take him depending what's given back, some fans are in for some serious disappointment . No way yzerman will sign ufa's to more than 2 years

I'd target dadonov if we get a 2nd back,I'm sure we'd actually be able to flip him for a 2nd at the deadline unlike the chumps stevie has signed last few seasons

23-24 is when the wings start to make some serious noise around the league

Whats the price for Fabbri?

I would imagine Detroit would moved him for the insurance deductible on his 6 knee surgeries.

Man loved this dude when he broke into the league in St. Louis. Tough to watch his health issues, reminds me of what Upsall went thru in his career.

The multiple posts of Mrazek and a 1st is weird.

If Toronto refused to trade their 1st for a TDL acquisition, they’re not doing it to dump Mrazek.

If you want a first, look toward Monahan.
Getting knocked out 1st round throws that all out the window, they'll need every penny they can get a hold of

Your dreaming if you think Toronto is trading a 1st to move Mrazek. 2nd + good prospect maybe but thats about it. Toronto has 5 or 6 players ready to make the jump next year so their cap will be fine.

OEL is available...is that the new worst deal in the league?
The Canucks would REALLY have to pony up something sweet for a team to take on the OEL contract ! It likely would be a team at the cap floor or a team that has buyout space to spare? 🤔

Toronto’s prospects are so great that they had to refuse to move their 1st to make a Cup run, because they really needed it.

Toronto has Robertson, Steeves, holmberg, kral, knies later in the year and niemela. Thats 6 that could all make the jump. They are all solid players who could play for the leafs next year.

Not interested in aging players with long term/high salary deals. Yzerman pretty much ruled that out already in his end of season press conference
