Definitely feels like Allvin wants to keep money available for a bigger add throughout the season than tying it up on a backup.

Which, hopefully, means they're confident Demko won't miss many games.

This seems more like a warm body than anything else. 25-year old, former 7th round pick that's been unable to stick an AHL starting job.

Apparently the Canucks are "still in a dance" with Lankinen. So as I said above, I don't think this is much more than camp posturing/having a warm body to throw in net for main camp.

Great, now I'm just picturing Allvin hitting the dougie while watching Lankinen hit the whip and naenae in an epic dance battle.

Unless the Canucks find a veteran goalie out there somewhere, there's probably an opening for Dylan Ferguson, at least in Abbotsford.

It might be kind of a 'white knuckle ride' if the Canucks are forced to run with Silovs and Tolopilo to start the NHL season. But Ferguson and Patera could probably hold down the fort in Abbotsford for at least the first quarter of the season.

My guess would be Silovs/Pitera in Vancouver, while Tolopilo starts in Abbotsford. The former two have some NHL experience, while Tolopilo has one partial season in the AHL.

I suppose if Demko isn’t ready to start the season, there’s a chance Ferguson could end up in Abbotsford.
