This has always been confusing, it seems there's a disconnect between the coaches and management on the player. I'm somewhat surprised they didn't move off him after seeing how Tocchet utilized him in the playoffs. He's always been fairly one-dimensional and seems to have settled into that area in terms of development. He's not a guy I'd think would suddenly "figure things out".

I doubt he's worth very much now given the contract and current state of play.

While I think communications between management and coach are important, I think management needs to ultimately made the call especially when it comes to a younger home grown talent like Hoglander. With a player like Sprong you can listen more to your coach.

I think the idea is that Hoglander has the work ethic and Hockey IQ to "figure things out."

Looking like Allvin stubbed his toe on this one. But if history is any guide, he doesn't let contract mistakes 'linger'.

That's the reason I'd be surprised if Hoglander finishes the season in Vancouver.

Hogs scored some spectacular goals last season and earned his current contract.

He’s a 23, fast, strong, got a good work ethic and hasn’t suffered any major injuries.

He don’t trade Nils unless you get a similar (in all respects) dman that can upgrade on Juulsen or Desharnais or Forbort.

The D is fine imo, we’ve been holding up pretty well through injuries and when completely healthy are OK. If we were to trade Hoglander who is a valuable asset it should be for a 3C, have Sutter play wing with Miller & Boeser and look for a Lindholm lite type of Center.

With that said, Hoglander is an important piece, he’s playing on the 4th line but can play top 6 minutes in the playoffs and not look out of place, Lekkerimaki & Bains wouldn’t be able to do that at this time, having good winger depth is crucial & Hoglander provides us with that, he brings skill, talent, speed, explosiveness & tenacity to the lineup.

Or maybe they are trying to drive some consequence into his round dome regarding poor defensive reads and general execution when it comes to winning board battles and being stronger at getting pucks out of your zone.

He can be a very good player or he can be a klown. It seems like an on and off switch with no dimmer at all. Very polarizing player. I'm not going to give up on him just yet. I think Richard is in his kitchen. But it's up to Nils. Want it Sunshine.
