Needs to be on the Miller line. He extends plays like no other on this team, but just needs a little help from a higher end player to extract some much needed goals.

Whole team is failing to make some easy clears leading to chances against, but due to Tochhet pushing Hogs down the lineup, the narrative is created that it's more of an issue with him. It's not, not by a long shot.

I believed this when he first entered the league and I feel the same way now: if he wants to have a long, consistent career in the NHL he'll need to be a buzzsaw every shift and it has to start with being hard on the boards in the defensive zone.

The issue is he defends like he's a skilled star forward when in reality his tenaciousness ought to be his biggest strength. He has to show the coaches that he's willing to battle to get pucks out, it's a simple recipe to get consistent ice-time.

He doesn't have the overall talent and IQ to be a skill-first top-6 winger. He will flourish when he realizes the base of his game needs to be grindy.

I think he can get there, it just may not be in Vancouver.

Hoglander should play on the top line in Boeser’s absence and swap with Lekk, Hoglander is a more aggressive forechecker & better puck retriever, faster and stronger too, leave Lekk on the 4th line and on PP1 until Boeser returns, Hog should also be on PP2, Tocchet not really putting him in a position to succeed.

I was wrong, not about this player's potential but whether he'll fulfill it. He very well might, but not here. He's our Kuzmenko of the year. He doesn't make it past TDL.

f*** I really liked when he was on though. Great forechecker, he's like an ant how strong he is.

The lack of talent is evident. He had some highlight reel plays in Sweden but his overall ability to move in tight quarters or elude defensemen in the NHL is just not there, nor will ever be. He gets too easily contained and really never uses his speed and agility to get open in the offensive zone. I think there were some red flags when he wasn't really putting up many points in the Sweden but this was often overlooked due to the highlights that got replayed here.

I have major doubts about him being a long-term fixture in a bottom 6 role. He had an opportunity down the stretch and into the playoffs to shine but he looked super weak and overwhelmed.

Also he's fighting himself. Him and EP are which is so so frustrating. My interpretation of the sport isn't one that you think about, it's one you feel. These guys are overthinking and second guessing and does them no good. Great point about the base of his game too.

Honestly I think Boeser is a massive blow. He really JUST figured it out and put it altogether. f***ing Jeannot.

Didn't like the deal when it was signed, even more annoyed by it now as it was a seemingly unneccessary risk. He doesn't have the hockey IQ to play in a top 6 role, and we have a glut of solid middle six wingers as is.

Given what Dubas has publicly asked for, and got back in the Guentzel deal, I'm hoping Alvin is smart enough to cut bait & tries to use him as thet main trade chip for Petterson.
