Yeah, ignore context. Don't worry about the fact that his contract's length is the concerning aspect.

He's a really good defence man. If you actually watched the games (or understood hockey) you'd know that. Why do you assume that teams only trade bad players?
Just wanted to check in on how elite defenseman OEL has been doing so far.

I'm so happy about the switch in hfboards. Used to be a place to discuss hockey, and now it's just a place for small people to 'dunk' on others about 5 game sample sizes.

OEL hasn't looked good and that contract is a concern. He was also good last year, both things can be true without it suggesting that there's some defect in my character or whatever, but go off.

He did not look good last year. Anyone claiming so is delusional.

Just like anyone thinking making routine defensive plays somehow makes a defenseman “special.”

So is the JT Miller contract still better than Kadri's?

Miller couldn't even get 1 game in his new contract without looking like a bum.

Technically he’s still a year away from the new contract.
