I’m guessing 11 million per year .

This is based solely on him mentioning he’s not looking what what nylander is making which is 11.5 Mathew’s is 11.6.

It won’t be as low draistl either which was 8.5 will be higher than eichel at 10 million.

Conclusion is 11 million for 8 years. We win multiple cups with him we call it a day .
11 would be incredible

Holy shit, this would be amazing. I thought Pettersson looked energized last night and it had me wondering if something happened with his situation.

The Tkachuk pipedream dies a horrible death, but I am glad that it's an 8 year deal over a 4 year deal or something. Having elite players who want to play in Vancouver long term is awesome.

I really hope he breaks out of this weak willed, low confidence hockey though. He needs to be better. Hopefully this is something he can put behind him as a distraction and really bear down and lead this team to glory.
We need to put Brock with Petey, they have proven Chemistry and JT can play with pretty much anyone.

Once we get Jake or Vatrano or whoever they can play around with lines, until then get Petey's game going. Hell unite the lotto line for a bit

He looked like beginning of the year Pettersson last night against Pittsburgh. Maybe he knew a deal is pretty much done and that weight is lifted?
Looked like he checked out if he gets paid he better step up big time

I'd rather have Brady Tkachuk at 8.2m AAV over the current version of EP. If the rumours were true that he wanted out, and didn't want to be in Vancouver, Tkachuk would have been a nice consolation prize, yes. I don't see how that is so controversial. If EP returns to last season's form (perhaps a new fat contract will enable this), he's obviously a more useful player than BT.

Keep being smug, though. I'm sure you enjoy farming dem sweet likes because you're so much higher than talking about fantasy proposals on the internet.
BT is a good player but EP struggling with a carasoul of wingers has 76 points in 61 games on a team that forces 2way hockey.

The sens played with zero structure much like we did under Bruce and BT still doesn't sniff EP's jock.

The day Pettersson signs his name to a contract, is the day that the days are numbered for Boeser, Garland, or maybe even both.

They'll have to be replaced by guys who are either making close to the league minimum, or are on their ELC's. Kids like Lekerimakki and Podkolzin may make the team by default.

Obviously, which is why I'm happy about an 8 year deal. I never said I wasn't.

I called "Blank Stare" out for ridiculing an entire fanbase for making fantasy proposals for a player the media has told us might not want to be here. Every single fanbase in any sport in the world would do this in this event. How can you blame fans for listening to media reports that Pettersson might want to move on?

It came off as smug like-farming, "haha the Canucks fanbase is so uniquely horrible" tier bs.
As a nucks fan who's team leaks nothing it doesn't want leaked and media pissed off because of that, you should never trust the media when negative shit is said.

I really hope Pettersson surprises us all including myself and signs for less than 10 million. I am not holding my breath but it would be amazing if he proved all of his doubters wrong "including me" and signed a value contract in order to help this team win. One can wish.
The NHLPA would draw and quarter him

There's zero reason why he would take less money than Mitch Marner did back in 2020.

if pettersson is willing to sign here (especially for term) it doesn't really matter if he gets 9, 10 or even 12 million. it's absurd to try to find cap savings on your star players. you just lock them up and figure out how you're gonna save 3 mil on your second pairing or 3rd line

the deals that kill you are never paying 12m for a 10m player it's always paying 7m for a 3m player or 5m for a 1m player

It could be a moot point soon.....but if Benning hadn't been fired and the Canucks were still struggling to become even a playoff bubble team, would Pettersson have re-signed in Vancouver?

Seems unlikely. So the hiring of Rutherford and ascension of Allvin as the only Swedish GM in the NHL, has probably meant that unlike the situation in Calgary, players actually want to sign and play here.

Both these idiots have been spreading gossip about the Canucks during a solid year.
The 'Zadorov doesn't mesh with the team' from Taylor and Dhaliwal's 'I've been hearing news from my sources' nonsense.

Both these past their prime stank's can go away.

Lets be real, this management team dont' like our media.

So they ain't giving them ****
They go on Donnie and Dhali.

I actually like the two of them and thought they had a fair take on this one. I find Rick is often careful with his words and I have got the sense in the past that they will call or text the team ahead of time on anything controversial. So much so, that my cynical nature had me thinking they were being a mouth piece for the team on this.
