If you must completely make up the rumour, that will do.No joke, I'm scouring websites, twitter feeds, and youtube channels to find something!
He suggests Jake DeBrusk as a trade target and even suggests trading the 14th overall for him.
DeBrusk has a no-move clause through next season, so he’s not going to land this summer in a place he doesn’t want to be. But given the way things are going in Vancouver, he may be amenable to places he wouldn’t have considered previously. The Canucks own two first-round picks — Nos. 3 and 24 — but given their rebuilding plans, the No. 14 could make sense.
Cart before the horse and all that, but getting to 14 makes me think “What would it take along with the 14th to get the 8th from Winnipeg?”Moving up to 14 also puts us in the position to get one of the next tier C's which would be great. Definitely agree 24+Debrusk for 14 anything better than that is gravy.
Teddy Blueger
Filip Chytil
- Very quiet; no urgency to re-sign him
- Old regime wanted him back “big time”
- Wonders if the Canucks are looking for a bigger centre in the bottom-six
Colton Sissons
- Not hearing about anything that would hold him back from playing next year
Derek Forbort
- There will be a lot of interest in him but not hearing that the Canucks are among those teams
Elais Pettersson
- Is hearing he will play next year
- Canucks haven’t discussed an extension with him
- Lots of chatter that teams are calling about him
- Not sure if the Canucks are looking for a centre in return for him this time
- Doesn’t understand the rumours about the Hurricanes still be interesting in him; were close on a Pettersson for Martin Necas trade
You don't need to take on a Nurse-type anchor to do that. Go get a Lyubushkin or Kesselring or Mayfield.
Agreed, the Canucks should just move on and put this Chytil experiment to bed.You mean other than for the sake of his health he might need to just walk away?
It’s makes sense until you consider whether Pettersson would waive his NMC to play in Detroit.I've seen people speculate on it here, but Pettersson in a 3-way deal in the Larkin trade makes too much sense for it to not be at the very least considered.
I honestly think he'd be pretty open to a new start and getting out of Canada at this point. It’s makes sense until you consider whether Pettersson would waive his NMC to play in Detroit.
I’m not trying to talk them out of it, I’m following up on a proposal with a likely more realistic outcome. It’s not like our messages are coming from the Canucks and are emails to other GMs, jfc. I’d push for SJ 2nd + DeBrusk for 14th overall, imo that is the most realistic slam dunk trade but probably still too greedy on our side.if the most public person in the cbj-osphere thinks it might be a good idea to flip 14 for debrusk straight up, we shouldn't be trying to talk them out of it. let's let the idea mature, incubate, and maybe it'll grow into a hilarious trade.
it was tongue in cheek bro.I’m not trying to talk them out of it, I’m following up on a proposal with a likely more realistic outcome. I mean one guy will have trade value and the other won't or will have very little. I will choose the guy that has trade value. Sissons is over an inch taller and about 20 pounds heavier and wins face offs.Blueger is practically the same size as Sissons and 2x the player.
I have a feeling they’re waiting to see if Malenstyn re-signs. Otherwise, they’re not really making it obvious what they’re planning to do on the NHL club.
