Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, & Fantasy GM | Chaos Week

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
So we got:

Mctavish - 99% getting traded by tomorrow
Hellybuyck - Wants out but Winnpeg wants him to stay..Could be a slow burner?
Robertson - Surely getting traded at this point..Seems like Dallas wants to get this done ASAP? Probably done by tomorrow?
Larkin - Detroit has leverage and are going to wait for their asking price...Probably a slow burner unless Dallas can get something done
Trochek - Both parties want to move on but asking price isn't outrageous so could be done by tomorrow or later in the summer
Nikishin - Doesn't seem like Carolina wants to pay his extension. Likely to be moved or given a short term deal similar to Necas and traded in the future if they can't find a good deal.
Knies - ?

Where does he want to go?

Probably a contender. Pretty reasonable imo. He's going to get paid wherever he goes so might as well choose a good team or worst case you go arbitration and sign a 1 year deal to go to UFA. He has the leverage in this case.

NJD and SJ could be reasonable middle grounds but both teams lack good excess pieces(players) that makes sense trading away which I imagine Dallas wants.

I think he wants to stay on a cup contending team while making 14+ million, and probably won’t go anywhere else unless they give him Kaprizov money. Given the season he had last year, his age, and history of production, I can’t really blame him either.

Over the lifetime of the deal he’s going to average between 10-12% of the cap at 14 million, which for a guy with his production profile on a contender seems fine. I think some of these guys are rightfully seeing other stars salaries get lapped as the cap expands, and aren’t about that.

Very apparent Robertson has no intention of going to a team that has no chance of winning regardless of the money offered.
