Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, & Fantasy GM | Chaos Week

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

That was one of fifty.

Seattle needs to just stop and rebuild but I’m glad they aren’t.

nah seattle is the cautionary tale against 'rebuilding' too long. they have a huge pile of b and c prospects and young players but need quality. they should be in on every single player that hits the market (and it sounds like they are). if they could turn that pile into any two of werenski, larkin, robertson and thomas they'd be in good shape

Panarin and Robertson both rejecting an income-tax free team is an indictment on the Kraken and how underwhelming they have been since entering the league. They are Columbus 2.0.

I get that they are trying to attract elite talent. But when you don’t have a single elite player on your team already it is nearly impossible to do.
Seattle is another dump of a town ruined by politicians, plus it rains all the time.

Apparently Anaheim is right in his backyard, San Jose is close but still a few hours away.

I mean also from a "how does he even fit cap-wise" standpoint as well. Sharks seem like the obvious marriage of willingness to pay him, need, location, and proximity to where he'd like to live.

Interestingly, so far the Sharks haven’t given up any significant assets for roster players aside from young players that fit their core group like Askarov. Granted, they have been in a tear down rebuild so it makes sense. Robertson isn’t by any means old, but he will be 27 in a month, which goes against what Grier has been doing thus far. San Jose is probably better served unloading assets for a young, top pairing defenceman though.

Or a Werenski or Hronek-type that’s a bit older than the core but still has several years of prime left.
