Going into the playoffs with Pettersson, Miller and Lindholm as our centre depth is a luxury.
More than anything, he's the guy who's furthest away from the NHL and therefor the most expendable.
Yah. Marchment is a strange player. Despite his size, he's really more of slow dangler/sniper. Kinda like a worse version of the current Pettersson. He's a slow and weird skater.
I'd target speed over size with how slow this team is.
Ugh, yikes. If Chytil is done, mgmt is gonna go nuts for Bennett.
The only one worth anything decent is Willander. So who are we trading on D this offseason to help on forward?
Junior
Willander
Mancini
Kudrasev
Mynio
At least one of those will be traded me thinks.
Huh? DPetey is currently a top 10 player from his draft class. The only one worth anything decent is Willander.

1. No he's not.Huh? DPetey is currently a top 10 player from his draft class.
Never said he's returning a top 6 player. But he would most certainly go top 15 and probably top 10 in a redraft. I value him the same as Willander right now and that's no disrespect to Wil.1. No he's not.
2. He's a B-tier prospect. He's not returning much in a trade on his own. If the Canucks want a top-six forward, D-Petey isn't pulling one in a trade.
He absolutely would not go top-10 in a re-draft today. In terms of league wide prospect value, yes, he is a B-tier asset.Never said he's returning a top 6 player. Calling him a B tier prospect shows you don't know very much about gauging the talent of young NHL prospects.
@MSHe absolutely would not go top-10 in a re-draft today. In terms of league wide prospect value, yes, he is a B-tier asset.
That you value him so highly just shows you don't know about the rest of the league and have rose-coloured glasses for Canucks prospects.
Lmao.
Ironically the Canucks finally are in need of top 6 wingers and it's never been harder to acquire them. Feels like we've always had too many and always trying to get rid of one.Well there is a big difference in value of a top 6 winger and top 6 center. Saying top 6 player is such a dumb term when we how much this league values centers over wingers. The only time wingers have legit value is if they are elite or cost controlled otherwise they are pretty indispensable.
Eh. I'm not saying he's top ten in a redraft. But toolsy guys like him who are late developers with unknown ceilings are worth a lot. Though generally in the 'so let's not trade him' sense moreso than the 'let's deal a top 6 center for him' sense. He absolutely would not go top-10 in a re-draft today. Rick Dhaliwal may be a nice guy and maybe he's intelligent in other areas of his life.Rick Dhaliwal was on with Kypreos and Bourne on Friday. For someone in the market, he has very little grasp on the market itself.
He said Tocchet doesn't have a contract, that's not entirely true as he has a team option that Allvin has said he sees as an extra year, hence the lack of urgency to talk longer extension with tocchet.
He painted this picture about the media getting to tocchet. How it's this massive situation. The media got to green, it didn't get to boudreau, but it's definitely getting to tocchet. Based on comments he's made.
This is also completely misunderstood by Rick. Tocchet's recent comments were entirely directed at Farhan and they were entirely about the attempt at fabricating controversy over Boeser not wearing an 'A'.
Even in that scrum after tocchet got things off his chest he was joking around with kuzma, iMac etc.
When Rick isn't being fed information directly from an agent, he's clueless.
Most interesting thing will be when we include our 2025 1st at the draft and hfboards crashes. So who are we trading on D this offseason to help on forward?

All 3 look promising but you definetely cannot play so many young ones together. Next year if the Canucks are playing Willander(hope he can mesh with Hughes) and D-Petey (with Myers 3rd pair) that is a lot. Canucks will have Hronek (2nd pair with M. Pettersson), Hughes, M. Pettersson and Myers for sure. Will they bring back Forbort? Tocc loves Juulsen and how about Mancini. This off season I can see them signing Forbort as a depth option and that is it for the backend which is good as they can concentrate on the forward group. If I were the Canucks management group I would focus on Bennet then Ehlers then Marner (if available). Not gonna get anything good for Mynio Kudry and Mancini. Will have to prove themselves at the NHL level first.
So much wrong in this post. D-Petey would definitely go in the first round in a redraft. He is also a dman that teams would covet as he moves well and is kind of a throwback with his physicality. If you made D-Petey available in a trade I think you'd be surprised on his return (Canucks would not move him).1. No he's not.

I think the quick reaction is to take what he's saying as a negative but being a b tier is pretty solidSo much wrong in this post. D-Petey would definitely go in the first round in a redraft. I mean he WAS a B-tier prospect when he was drafted but as a 20 year old he has already pushed out an established vet. If you look around, there aren't enough quality D, especially guys with DPetey's profile, legit big, actually mobile (not mobile for his size kinda bs mobile) and can move the puck.1. No he's not.

tiers is pretty irrelevant, his value is based on how scarcity. We know teams prefer in general tall and big defenseman that can actually play. How many of those are around? That is the thing that will determine his price, not whatever BS fan ranking.I think the quick reaction is to take what he's saying as a negative but being a b tier is pretty solid
Who is in your a tier
I think I personally value D-Petey more than his league-wide trade value would be too. I would also just, "not trade him".Eh. I'm not saying he's top ten in a redraft. But toolsy guys like him who are late developers with unknown ceilings are worth a lot. But I don't think it's homer glasses to, somewhat tentatively, value him really highly.
I would lay some money down that there are more than you think and that a lot of people thinktiers is pretty irrelevant, his value is based on how scarcity.
