Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, and & Fantasy GM | You incurred Vector's wrath and broke the site.

More than anything, he's the guy who's furthest away from the NHL and therefor the most expendable.

Honestly I think if we are patient with Mynio it’ll pay better dividends long term than Kud who is closer to NHL action but does he play the right side and will he get any PP time with Hughes and Hronek being here?

As far as stock goes I think showing well at the AHL so early after drafting goes so much further than 3 WJC games for (most) GMs

So who are we trading on D this offseason to help on forward?

Junior
Willander
Mancini
Kudrasev
Mynio

At least one of those will be traded me thinks.

If Kudrasev or Mynio can help get you the top 6 players (we need 2 imo) we need then you do it in heartbeat as hard to see there be any space for any of them for the foreseeable future.

If it's the choice of Junior or Willander I'm trading Willander as he would get us an absolute haul or a top line stud. Junior at this point doesn't carry near the same value.

I'm optimistic thou we will find a way to improve the team without having to do that. One high profile FA and one trade with whatever assets we can cobble together that don't include Willander or Junior and boom we are right back in it......

1. No he's not.

2. He's a B-tier prospect. He's not returning much in a trade on his own. If the Canucks want a top-six forward, D-Petey isn't pulling one in a trade.
Never said he's returning a top 6 player. But he would most certainly go top 15 and probably top 10 in a redraft. I value him the same as Willander right now and that's no disrespect to Wil.

Calling him a B tier prospect shows you don't know very much about gauging the talent of young NHL prospects.

He absolutely would not go top-10 in a re-draft today. In terms of league wide prospect value, yes, he is a B-tier asset.

That you value him so highly just shows you don't know about the rest of the league and have rose-coloured glasses for Canucks prospects.

@MS

I need your professional scouting skills here for some input.

Well there is a big difference in value of a top 6 winger and top 6 center. Saying top 6 player is such a dumb term when we how much this league values centers over wingers. The only time wingers have legit value is if they are elite or cost controlled otherwise they are pretty indispensable.

Ironically the Canucks finally are in need of top 6 wingers and it's never been harder to acquire them. Feels like we've always had too many and always trying to get rid of one.

Boeser disappearing has left a really big hole in this roster combined with Miller leaving.
