I wonder what QH and his (and EP's) agent would think about JR/Allvin reneging on their handshake agreement with EP to not trade/move him this year.
I don't think Pettersson has lived up to his side of the contract.

Management isn't giving the middle finger first. The player did--twice. First, last year in the playoffs. And again this season.

Guerin does have close ties with the team. Not sure Guerin has the fortitude in him to make that kind of trade, though. They may have had conversations about both, though.
We know Guerin likes Miller. They've perpetually been looking for a center, even with Rossi breaking out.

Miller for Ohgren, Hartman, and whatever else they want to balance the cap.

Do you really believe that's how things work though? That's certainly not how Brisson would council QH on situation.

Reflects my feelings as well. The whole Boudreau fiasco also reflects this.
Overall compared to prior management groups other than Gillis I think this group has done a decent job.

You know the scene in the Simpsons when Homer was reading a book called Advanced Marketing, then he threw it in the trash and read a book called Beginner Marketing, then he threw THAT in the trash and read the definition of marketing from a dictionary and decided the best way to attract more customers to the bowling alley is to fire a damn shotgun repeatedly into the air?

That's what this management's PR has been feeling like.

Like I know it hasn’t reached that point YET, but we’re honestly just delaying the inevitable with Quinn. I can’t see a world where he stays after we’ve dumped Miller Boeser Demko and potentially Pettersson.

Yep. That's what I don't get.

If you sell all these guys, there is zero path to even being a vaguely fringe contender in the next two years. Seeing that, and all the dysfunction, do they really think Quinn is sticking around? He's gone, 100%.

You trade Miller AND Petey, you may as well just trade Quinn now. They're heading down the inevitable full rebuild path, whether they like it or not. Might as well try to be in the McKenna and Dupont sweepstakes if that's gonna happen regardless.

came by to say the reason for the interview airing the dirty laundry is to set up multiple trades to achieve a retool rather than just a trade of disgruntled player.

i think they are going to try and trade miller and pettersson at the same time with complimentary returns.

we have a finite amount of time to make that not happen. guy wants to win. they have to get rid of the bullshit and distractions and field a competitive team.

Hartman, Johansson, Merrill, and Ohgren would just be over 8m. Problem would be Hartman has a NMC and Johansson has an NTC.

The margin of error in pulling off consecutive franchise altering moves and having that be successful in less than a year or two is so slim. Not that it’s impossible or that they shouldn’t try it (they will), but it just feels inevitable that it’ll fail and we’ll end up in the mushy middle again, only to waste two years, lose Hughes and sell off more assets to finally rebuild. The 20 year rebuild.
