Say Buffalo wants either. Which one would you do?I hate to say it, but if the whole Byram++ conversation is on the table for Pettersson, you have to strongly consider moving him over Miller. Our defense is abysmal and the Miller offers are somehow worse. If we're going to have any chance of turning things around in the gaming years, we need to move the player who can net us a better return. Not to mention, freeing up that much cap space pretty much negates OEL.
I don't like it, but a package of Byram/Power + Cozens/Peterka or however the pieces fall does so much more for us despite Miller's age.
I mean “we’d like to get a #2C back for our #1C but we probably won’t even get that so we’ll have to be happy with what we get” is definitely a masterclass… in stupidity. Why can't we have a masterclass GM for just a couple seasons? Is that really too much to ask?
I thought most Buffalo fans value Kulich more than Cozens..Say Buffalo wants either. Which one would you do?
Pettersson for Cozen, Byram, 2nd
Or
Miller for Kulich, Byram, 2nd

I was saying when he was first hired, to everyone here, to keep a critical eye, and not just fall in love with whatever jr does. And it's finally come around. He seemed to be well-spoken in 2022. He said all the right things and seemed to intend he was building a competent front office. They mostly had everything under control in the first few months and the moves they made weren't telegraphed.
The first cracks in the armour seemed to develop with the handling of Bruce Boudreau. It was handled so poorly. Then we heard leaks surrounding the Pettersson negotiations where the front office was openly leaking out rumors to the media. This season has totally jumped the shark though.
So there's two potential reasons:
1) JR is senile. Allvin is dumb as hell.
2) Aquilini has stonewalled many prior efforts at making changes/trades and this is basically Jim Rutherford/Allvin trying to ignite fireworks to get the public behind making those moves.

I'm not sure what Buffalo fans are thinking.I thought most Buffalo fans value Kulich more than Cozens..
Definitely the latter
No argument. I could care less who goes and who stays. They could trade everyone or no one. I just want them to play better more consistently or lose harder. Lol. Mushy middle is not somewhere this team should contend for.Easily the latter. I'm assuming your argument is giving up the better player between Miller and Pettersson hurts us long term. Maybe it does. Alternatively, there's a much better chance we come out at least breaking even with players like Byram, Power, Cozens, Kulich or Peterka being involved than Chytil, Lindgren and "oh, hold salary for us plskthx love u"
Drury is on the hotseat and asking for retention + low balling for JT. What a fool. Too dumb to offer up Schneider despite having Fox-Borgen-Schneider on the right side.Easily the latter. Totally unrelated to the drama at hand, but anyone think they waive Desharnais?
This seems more driven by arrogance than anything else ... also I have a hard time not thinking Aquilini is lurking in the background here (despite the constant insistence he's "hands off" with Rutherford) ... this stinks of his type of petty reactivity.
Just saw that Kaprizov might need surgery.
Ailing Wild star Kirill Kaprizov to undergo surgery, out at least four weeks
An MVP candidate could be headed for a significant absent. Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov missed practice and may undergo surgery for a lower-body injury that has plagued him throughout the year, The Athletic reported on Tuesday.www.sportsnet.ca
If so, do they pull a Landeskog and trade for Miller?
Listening to the D&D Mason interview I don't see anyway that this doesn't end with both JT and EP out the door. Certainly looks like they were given every opportunity to work things out for the good of the team and failed badly. Having one guy "win" by staying has to cause continuing problems in the room.
Best case scenario in the short term is EP to Buffalo for a package around Power, Kulich +.
Way Suter has been playing, he's playing at a Top 6 C level.
Kulich can slide into the 3C for now or out to the wing to start.
Power slides into a 2nd pair that gets a dramatic upgrade.
Not only that, Nucks get extra space for future deals.
