Agreed on this. Miller is the main problem. Move Petey, there's just gonna be another feud.

That post also makes exactly the wrong conclusion with respect to the rapidly rising cap. You want to keep fixed-cost players. Trading a Pettersson, who even in his "worst case" is still providing $8+m in value according to Dom's model, is a mistake.

The other poster seems to suggest trading Petey and then reallocating the cap space to a new star player(s). Trying to sign someone like Marner in this cap environment would run $14+M. Second line forwards are going to creep into the $7-8M range. Cost control will be king.
yeah also if free up the cap and the player you planned to sign doesn't sign with you then you are boned because at best you can go to like your backup plans .. backup plans will likely be much much worse than the main plan. it's not like you can use 11.6M and sign 2 2nd line guys and you are in a good spot.

I like how every trade comes outta the blue. What trade has actually had reporters get the build up of players correct ?
Very rarely

The newspapers, websites, and forums must be loving all our clicks and posts, though, because we can't help but come for more. It's very engaging.

All HFBoards moderators must be very busy right now trying to decide what Lambo model to buy.

i was wondering if the cap change and gourde news would influence a team into accelerating any interest in miller

Not happy that he's being traded. He's been massive for this team over the last few years. Was lucky enough to see his game winning goal in game 5 against the Oilers in person. Thanks for the memories, JT.
