Oh I have no problem with the price paid. It's just funny that Marino was sold for so low by Burke.

I’m not confident mgmt is going to land the pieces this team needs this offseason atm.
Too many teams with too much room and much more capital.
We might be bargain bin shopping.
I did not expect Tanner Jeannot to have positive trade value.

Probably, but not at younger guy at that price. Roy will cost a lot more and they will be taking on more risk of decline with a guy like Tanev.
Just waiting for the announcement that TB has done a sign and trade for Guentzel at this stage.

They are still a destination where they play, no state tax and the team is still competitive.

Running it back but as of right now they are weaker team without zadorov and lindholm. Itd be hard to defeat the oilers in a 7 game rematch even with demko. Other teams will look to upgrade as well.

Dillion for 5 mil?5'11" now considered small, 6' smallish. Teams loading up on big defence, Vancouver moving in the other direction.
Guess where Zadorov is going? Tampa? and a cup?
Maybe still a blockbuster trade to come for the Canucks.

IMO Vancouver needs to pay the premium to sign-and-trade Guentzel or at least acquire his rights cause otherwise Tampa is going to steamroll any other suitor on Monday.
It's foolish to evaluate the Canucks off-season while they have this much cap space.
But Canucks clearly do not have assets to be players in the trade market - and I don't blame management for that.
You know, perhaps getting outbid in signing a 29 year old to a 9+ million per year contract for 7-8 years is not a bad thing, especially with the signing bonuses and nmc typically attached to them
Two weeks ago a good chunk of the fanbase were freaking out because they had no one signed. Fast forward a bit and they have the team returning with ample cap space. They're in a good position but people are still freaking out a bit.
