It upsets me that they are even entertaining re-signing Boeser. They HAVE to trade him to have any hope of being competitive moving forward. He is not what they need in the top 6. They need speed and forechecking ability with top 6 skill.
The boat has sailed on Pettersson. I wanted him traded before he was signed. Now they have no choice to try and rehab him first into a marketable product.

I'm at the point where it doesn't really make a difference where we go with Boeser.
You keep him and you maybe expect him to fall off in his early 30's but it really won't matter because it's very likely this franchise will be in the middle of a rebuild.
You trade him and then plug the holes in the top 6 with quantity rather than quality (ie. R. Smith, Nyquist). who may struggle to be .5 PPG players.

It's unbelievable that we're here staring a complete implosion in the face after what was accomplished last season. We've all seen seasons that go badly for good teams, but I can't recall one being cooked by your the best players themselves and career ending injuries to your fantastic goalie.

- Struggling offensively so not getting offensive zone starts
- Have tried to fix Pettersson; probably sat him down 100 times and talked to him
- Looking for a #2 centre
- So many things up in the air
- All their UFAs, and Carson Soucy, could be in play
- Don’t know if the Canucks will sell or buy
- No progress in contract talks; don’t expect any movement with him
- Next contract is in the 3m plus range
- The two sides are talking, however
- Can’t report progress but also isn’t going sideways
- Canucks don’t want to do 7-8 years but are willing to do 5-6 years

- Islanders will only add if they think they can win; difficult to predict what they’ll do; teams think Nelson will be available
- Jake Evans, Yanni Gourde, and Scott Laughton are available
- Blues will trade Brayden Schenn if a team meets their demands; thinks Maple Leafs really want him
- Teams want Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten, Ben Danford, and 2026 1st rounder from the Maple Leafs
- A lot of the rental players have a similar price with Laughton being a bit higher because he’s not a rental
- Mentions Nick Bjugstad and Luke Kunin
- Teams like Tommy Novak and were disappointed he wasn’t made available before signing his contract; his name is out there
- Doesn’t know how much interest there would be in Alexandar Georgiev
- Doesn’t think the negotiations are over and Boeser wants to stay
- When a team starts at 5 years, it says that they won’t go to 7 or 8 but could go to 6

IMO $8M x 6 after what Boeser has provided this year is insane.
That's a few times now that we have heard about some level of disrespect from management by players. Horvat, Zadorov and now Boeser. We have all heard the disrespect in the news about Bruce and being critical of Pettersson very openly(warranted). I don't mind them not just laying over like JB did all the time but patterns.

Be prepared for a lot of insane contracts over the next 4 months. I actually think 8 x 6 is fine, there aren't a ton of top 6 options out there but we definitely need the other top 6 forwards to bring a different element to the mix.

When I lived in Japan, I had to use a fax machine. I was furious. This was 2011 and I lived in the most advanced country on the planet. My stupid-ass employer forced us to fax everything.
