Curious, what are some contract comparables for Hronek? Weeger at 6.25, Montour is older and is upcoming UFA. What would the walk away price be.
aav should start with a six, but it'll be a seven.
Possibly as many as three sevens in the contract terms, but we dont have much choice, milstein has all of the leverage.

We should trade Garland and Myers to the Leafs. Retain on Myers to 4.15 (Klinberg) for an expiring contract? Bertuzzi and a draft pick?

Edit: just realized Bertuzzi has NMC

Need more grit in bottom six and definitely must upgrade top 6 winger.

Cant have mikheyev and lafferty on EPs wings in the playoffs

Saw a thread on the main boards and one player who would fit like a glove (albeit would be extremely expensive, and Garland would have to go the other way) would be Buchnevich imo. This would drop Mikheyev down to the bottom 6. By my calcs would leave the team with about 4 - 5 million for another RD. Lineup also assumes Zadorov, Joshua, Blueger, DeSmith and Lafferty are re-signed for around what they make or slightly a bit more and Petterson is at about 12 and Hronek at about 7.5.

Buchnevich - Petterson - Kuzmenko
Hoglander - Miller - Boeser
Joshua - Suter - Mikheyev
PDG - Blueger - Lafferty

Hughes - RD
Soucy - Hronek
Zadorov - Bear / Friedman

Demko
DeSmith

It's okay it's okay it's no problem

We still love you

Nobody knows where the switch is
They have a scouting system in which they all take turns checking each teams page for mention of their beloved players.

we should trace Myers to the wild for a 2024 first!
let’s see if they betray the process and confirm I’m right, or simply report back the intel that we have caught on.

Myers retain wild trade faber trade faber brodin eriksson ek myers minnesota to wild

It remains an unresolved mystery how the owners left Benning in charge years after he had demonstrated he was a disaster.

One theory is the owner liked it because he was allowed to meddle when Benning was in charge.

Benning reporting for his weekly “meeting”

Leading the league right now. But Horvat was too and Boeser simply took his place. So is it just the player or the line and position?
Being from the wrong coast hopefully eastern teams would think like you so a return could be enhanced but the big win is still getting cap space, the is the most valuable asset a team could have in the cap era.

Myers is more than just earning his paycheck. That he is so scrutinized shows how often he is getting the puck or in the play. Hughes does something wrong defensively and it isn't mentioned or down played, Hughes has more give aways' than Myers. Defensively Myers leads him in every category. The position not the player. Ditto with Hronek, he has 4 times the number of giveaways to takeaways and twice what Myers has.

Maybe Hronek becomes a trade asset? IMO he might get a 1rst pick in return and the 4 million committed to his cap space used for Hanafin, Tanev and another FA dman.

Now would that not be interesting, Zadorov, Tanev and Hanafin all with the Canucks. How the team would resemble Calgary of 3 years ago. Gaudreau - Pettersson, Miller - Backlund, Demko - Markstrom, Tkachuk - ?
They didn't have Hughes though but they were considered cup contenders.
we would get back more for Hronek than we paid

For sure, the team in the next 2 seasons needs a 4th vet Dman after Hughes, Hronek, and Soucy. Wallinder is not arriving until after his So. season and should slowly bring him along. Dman Petey, probably the ideal situation is to bring him over into the AHL next season.
And hope one of the current AHL guys, whomever that may be can play on the 3rd pairing next season.

But, need to get someone to play on the 2nd pairing and 20 minutes for 2 seasons. UFA market isn't amazing this summer. It's not deep in quality.

Boeser, also have to consider selling high as he will be entering the final year of his contract next season. What will the next deal look like for a guy who turns 28 at that time that isn't a great skater? Not a have to move, but anything should be on the table with him.
Garland, realistically, I'd be targeting a sub $3 mill player in return and have the option to buy that player coming back out and using the $4 mill or so in cap space savings on someone else. That's a realistic option vs giving up assets to move Garland.
trade Boeser in July after you signed Nylander
