It's a hugely underwhelming market. Even the guys with the term, like Vatrano, are not exciting.
Whatever happens with Zadorov I'll be giving Alvin the benefit of the doubt at this point, but I'll be sad if they can't make it work out with this player. He just oozes potnential and I would like to see this coaching staff mould him as he enters his prime. My only concern with him is where his head is at in terms of priorities. Does he get distracted? Is he driven to win a Stanley Cup or would he be happy just to collect his paycheck and avoid getting banged up?
I also think his rep for making gaffes is a bit overblown due to his style of play. He's so big and skates so well he's usually just in a controlled drift and looks like he's just floating around. The game looks like it's slower for him. So when he does make a mistake it looks unforced.
This is the NHL. Defensemen are going to make mistakes when they're going up against the best in the world. Expecting top four blueliners to play air tight as the standard for being good is just unrealistic. Zadarov is a clear step above Myers and Juulson when it comes to moving the puck, and probably above Cole too. I don't see it as a problem for him.

I would give a lot for Buchnevich. He has some durability questions and he can be streaky but he is such a beast otherwise. Plays every situation and versatile.

Fun point. After watching the Australian Open tennis all these not-Russians were there. Is the NHL the only international league that acknowledges it has actual Russian players on them?
Horvat was traded literally a year ago, right before the All Star game.

Allvin talked about how they want to be very aggressive ahead of the deadline during his conference today, as well.
A flames fan made a post on their subreddit an hour ago saying that Lindholm has been traded to the Canucks. Would be hilarious if that winds up being true.

I wouldnt mind him for a rental for a fair price (the 1st being the primary asset).
It wouldnt be hilarious in any way if we signed him to an extension though (apparently, he wants to test UFA anyway).

The only way the Canucks could afford an extension for him is if he takes a massive discount on the price he's rumored to be asking for, so I'm not very worried about that.

I mean, assuming the additional player is of the level of Linus Karlsson, it's a pretty fair price, even with Lindholm's underwhelming season.
A late first and a player who Tocchet would likely scratch during the playoffs for a 2C rental.
Plus you’re getting him a month early. Also carve out a little bit of capspace.
I like the concept of Lindholm and think he’ll produce in a better situation. It’s all about acquisition cost for me.
