Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

I think NHL pro scouting is generally very bad and '5 points in 13 games = small guy bad in playoffs' will still win out with lots of teams.

But like I said in my previous post, maybe you could get a 3rd, and that's actually a huge difference from 'couldn't give him away without a large sweetener' which was the case in October-November.
I think we can get like a 2nd and maybe more. GMs have some stupid obsession with character

Based on the figures in the OP re salary, the following 21 man roster is cap compliant by buying out Mikheyev and trading Hronek for more than we got him for:

Stamkos - Pettersson - PodK
Suter - Miller - Boeser
Joshua - Blueger - Garland
Hog - Aman - PDG

Hughes - Roy
Soucy- Tanev
Zadarov - Myers
Juulsen

I honestly wonder where in the lineup they have him slotted in, when discussing bringing him back. $7+ million for a third line centre does not make sense to me. Do they want Petey playing wing going forward, which would be interesting. I find it weird that he would be (reported) there number one priority in terms of resigning pending unrestricted free agents.
He’d give them a lot of flexibility to run a 3C deep lineup when needed but I agree, paying him what he’ll command, you have to pencil him in for a top 6 role, whether that means Petey playing with him or Miller.

It wouldn't be the pick that's immediately valuable, it would be the cap space to get a legitimate top6 fix that is valuable.

But if he's a mainstay with Miller or Pettersson next year, that move doesn't need to be made.

We can afford to get a top six winger without moving Garland, especially if several of our UFAs price themselves out. Our strength this season was depth throughout the lines. Yes, we overextended that depth but that's more of a Mikheyev problem.

I bet you could get a 2nd rounder or equivalent in the summer based on the amount of gushing HNIC did over the guy in the playoffs, but that's splitting hairs.

I'd be shocked. And I doubt his reputation has changed that greatly around the league. He's still a small skill player with no PK utility whose production dropped significantly in the playoffs.

I think we're running back largely the same forward group and I would put the chances of Lindholm re-signing at maybe 15 percent. If the bottom 6 is be shored up through trade I've liked Kaliyev for a long time. His skating isn't very good in any way or any direction but he's highly intelligent and should be pretty cheap to acquire.
If the team wants to compete they'll need another legit top 6 winger and bank on younger players taking on a more meaningful role. Guys like Raty, Podkolzin, Lek, and/or Bains will need to make a big push. Need a high end top 6 forward or the team is in trouble.

VAN needs 2 top6 wingers, maybe more. They have Boeser and Garland doesn't play in the top6.

2024 Stamkos is 2019 Phil Kessel right now. He would be a 45 point powerplay specialist away from Tampa.

Which we can still afford, assuming only two of Joshua, Zadorov, Lindholm and Hronek are coming back. Even bringing back three of them is still plausible if they take less to stay here.

Trading Garland just creates a massive hole in our third line, especially if we lose Joshua too. Now we're essentially Edmonton, relying on two lines. Except we don't have the two best players in the world to compensate for that lack of depth.

Really? Can you provide a lineup where Lindholm and Hronek are re-signed and they have enough money for 2 quality top6 forwards? I'd like to see it.

Aside from Lotto, this team does not have a legitimate top6 line, currently. (Not an entire line)

Garland was literally one of the last skaters with any juice left in game 7 and scored a goal but he’s only worth a 3rd. That’s such utter bullcrap it’s not even funny.

Not entirely surprising after some of the scoring woes this post-season, the Canucks are rumored to be looking to add a scoring top 6 forward this off-season.

At a high level, team sources indicate that the Canucks’ offseason goals are to add some dynamic scoring punch at the top of the lineup, reconstruct the defence corps given the probability of multiple departures in free agency, and maintain some of the size advantage that was so crucial to the well-defined identity this team carved out last season.
...
Regardless of which pending free agents the Canucks are able to keep, identifying another dynamic, creative offensive forward is viewed as an essential part of what a successful Canucks offseason could look like.
...
There aren’t many options available in unrestricted free agency, so this won’t necessarily be straightforward. Based on what we’re hearing, Canucks hockey operations will be aggressive in seeking to add a top-six forward this summer who can contribute to generating shots and goals.

I don't see how they can add a top-6 forward without massive roster change. Rutherford could definitely do it, though. I don't think the bottom 6 is improving much from within. I've seen no improvement from Podkolzin for two years.

I think next year will be a bit of a regression year for the Canucks with the eye on the 25/26 season. The Canucks over-performed this year, I think most can agree to that.

-The young guns and farm team are not ready to be the "next man up" that the main team needs yet. The guys with potential really shouldn't be expected to add to the main team next year.
-JR and Alvin stated pretty much on day 1 that the youth need more time to percolate in the minors.
-The Sedins, when asked about how to build a Stanley Cup contender said "you need players out-performing their contracts".

With the team performing so well this year, Rutherford "took his shot" with the Lindholm trade because that's what he does. Balls out management style at it's best but with a plan. Love it. They brought in Zadorov because he was cheap and they might want to sign him long term. Great idea...but him along with most of the other guys they took a shot at all played better than expectations and now might be looking at contracts the Canucks don't want to be burdened with...lol.

The Rutherford/Alvin plan worked too damned well! But it was a fun ride.

These don't actually look that bad. That Hronek 3-year would be awesome, but no way he signs that.

He might… Gets him to UFA at age 29, ready to sign another 7 year deal at a higher cap hit. The rest all look reasonable.

I’m not sure why Lafferty is at 2.3mil, that’s a bit ridiculous.
